For The Farmer

I am enjoying getting back to my Stampin' Up! images, and finding  grove again.  There is not as many layers as I used to have, but I think it still looks pretty good.  What do  you think? 

I used the Farm Life (114411) stamp set, and the Autumn Traditions DSP (115668).  The sentiment is retired, but the punches are not.  I used the Designer Label, the 1" circle, and the Modern Label.  Most of everything is sponged with close to cocoa, and the faux stitching is with the chocolate chip marker.  I am glad I bought a Copper Hodge Podge kit when it retired, it is PERFECT for guy cards.  I colored it with THIS TUTORIAL, sponged the edges and put it all together.  Hope you enjoy your weekend, have fun and happy stamping!!

 

Stampin' Up Ribbon - ♥♥♥♥ It !!

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, we were given the opportunity to purchase a ribbon sampler.  Thy sent us 5 inches of EVERY SINGLE TYPE of ribbon in the catalog this year.  Being the perfectionist that I can be at times, I put laid them out ROY G BIV (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet)  and then neutrals.

So, when I am making a card, and I need to know what type of ribbon will work best, or even if it matches,  I pull down my sampler and check it out.  It hangs right on the towel bars that hold all my punches, so it is right there when I need it.

Questions, Card and A Sunset

I have quite a few questions about what is going to happen once I reach my "weight goal".  Well that depends entirely on me, NOT ON WHAT I EAT!  If I choose to go back to eating fast food 3 times week, sit on my butt (no exercise), skip my fruits and veggies, eat mostly prepackaged food, I am going to gain back each pound that I just worked off.

Is that not inspiring ?!?  Look at her, it gets me excited !!  I am thrilled to be involved in the slightest with the health and happiness of another person.  I always think," What if someone never told me about Isagenix ?", and that helps me to share my story.  I am so proud of Paula!!  She is even earning free product, which helps cut down on the cost.  That is so helpful in this economy.

The Golden Violin

I had to wait to post this card, since it was for my SIL.  She reads my blog {Hi Jocelyn}, so I could only show you after I gave it to her .

I used her favorite technique to make this card - EMBOSSING!  She embosses on nearly every card, so I had, to as well.  But, she doesn't really like to watercolor, so I had to show her how beautiful it can be  .

It is embossed on watercolor paper and then watercolored with inks and an aqua painter.  I tore the edges, and then sponged them with creamy caramel to make it a bit more vintage.  I tied the bow and added the vanilla jumbo brad over the top.

I added faux stitching and distressing to the DSP to add to the overall feel.  The best part - she loved it!!  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Peace on Earth

How many of you like the Swiss Pixies as much as I do?  This particular cutie is Nora, and she is now ready to grace someone's home this Christmas.  She is available over at All That Scraps.

I colored her with Copics and then coated her wings and the snow with stickles.  The sentiment is from AmyR's Christmas Card Greetings.  The colors I used on this card are elegant eggplant, tempting turquoise, and almost amethyst.  The brads are the DoodleBug Sugar Coated Brads and I put them through the smaller Spellbinders Snowflake.

I rounded the bottom corners, and I like the look  it gives.  So subtle, but noticeable, making it different .  What can you do to make your card different today?  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Sahara Sympathy

I got some bad news on Friday, so Saturday I needed to spend some time making sympathy cards.

I kinda CASEd myself , with a few changes, for an easy but elegant card.

I added the strip of sahara DSP and the ribbon is heat curled.  The flowers are stamped in black and sahara, and I think it adds a bit of color without being too over-the-top.  I had better get these in envelopes, since they need to be brought to church in the morning.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

 

Couple of Cards !!

Since I missed posting yesterday, I thought I'd give you a two'fer!

This card is made by stamping the tree with versamark, embossing it with heat and stick powder and then dumping on the dazzling diamonds.  This card is STUNNING in real life.  The colors are elegant eggplant, almost amethyst and sahara sand.

This one is the same as the red/gold snowflake card, but in blue and silver.  The embellishment is the scallop circle, 2 snowflakes and 2 different blooms from the boho blossom punch.  They are all held together with a jumbo brad.  I even stamped the sentiment in  the same ink, but I don't think it is dark enough.  Oh well, still pretty *big grin*.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Jayden's Results

First - Thanks for all the prayers.  They were definitely felt during the waiting period of almost 3 weeks !!  The only thing that I do know for sure is that he has bronchitis.  All his other blood work came back negative, so no "C" word or anything else for that matter.  They do not know why his lymph nodes on the one side of his neck are so big, but they don't want me to get too concerned unless they grow bigger.

Second - when it rains, it seems to pour.  Dylan has been having headaches for about a year, and they have progressively gotten worse.  He is now getting migraines and his eyes are swelling.  He is being referred to a Pediatric Neurologist and needs to have a Cat Scan and MRI done.  When he is fine, he is his normal self, but the last time he had a migraine, he was done for a week.  I do know the signs for him, so I will keep him medicated, so it doesn't get so bad.  Please pray that this does not turn out to be a lifelong battle for him.  He is only 6, and it is rare for them to have migraines so young, but it does happen.

I honestly HATE typing the bad stuff that happens on this side of the screen, but sometimes, the prayers are needed help to get me through.  Thanks again, and may God touch each one of you in a special way today!

Sparkly Turquoise Tree

  ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS !!

I love the way this card turned out, understated and elegant with a little bit of flair.  If you click on the picture, you can see more of how sparkly that pine from Lovely As A Tree (115026) really is. 

This was one of the cards we made for my Stampin' Splurge on Tuesday, and the girls ladies LOVED them. 

We used the Fine Cosmo(108796) and Galaxy(114286) SU glitter, and some used the Dazzling Diamonds.  I can hardly wait to do it again tonight with my other class!!

And they will get the full Christmas treatment today ...

  I am totally  ♥LOVING♥  the fact that purple is so in season right now.  Isn't it fantastic when your favorite color happens t be dominant in fashion and decor ?!?

This year sent me to the store, so I could totally revamp my tree.  All new ornaments for this baby, and she is dripping in purple and gold!!  I even got a fancy new tree skirt, gold wrapping paper, and all I have to get now is the purple ribbon for the packages.
