I am so encouraged by all the prayers that have been going up on our behalf.  Not just by reading your comments (EVERY ONE OF THEM !!), but I can REALLY feel God's hand on me.  Russell also has a great peace about him, for someone in his circumstance.

I will give a bit of a breakdown for you.  We chose a homeopathic/naturopathic route for one simple reason.  The doctors said that chemo would not help him, except to maybe bring down pain.  It would not cure or fix his condition at all.  We decided a quality of life is better than quantity of time.  We believe God intervened in this, because we were about to go ahead with chemo, until we received a opportune phone call.

Now, all of the pain that Russ is in is what is happening in what they tell us is a Healing Crisis.  This could last as long as 90 days, before he starts feeling any better.  We cannot use morphine (even the medical doctors are not wanting Russ to have it), because it will seriously compromise his liver.  We are trusting that since God brought us to this Homeopathic gentleman, that he will use the healthiest options to control the pain.  We are trying something now, and are hoping to see results by tomorrow.

This gentleman has treated over 28,000 people from all over North America, and he happens to reside about 20 minutes from us!  He is also EXTREMELY helpful.  We needed some new pills/drops to day, and he drove all the way in to the city on his holiday to get them for us.  He is also personally on call for us 24/7 to get us through each thing that comes up (things change daily here).

We are FAR from out of the woods, but we are looking to God.  When the miracle happens, it will be because Our Heavenly Father has orchestrated it, and we want him to get the glory!  Now, something for you.  I have been putting all the verses together that people have been giving me.  I have it in a WORD document for you to download.  Pray them over yourselves, sick or not, God's Word will not return to him void (Isaiah 55:11)!

Prayer Is Powerful

Russ has not slept for about 3 days.  The pain is getting quite intense, and no position is comfortable anymore.  He is completely exhausted, and needs his rest for healing.  Please pray that he would have a break from the pain, so that he can get some much needed sleep.

I find this very heart wrenching.  Here I am, healthy, and SO WILLING to help him.  I would do anything in my power, bet there is nothing I can do to take away his pain.  I know praying is the very best thing I can do, but I am a fixer.  I trust the LORD in everything, but I just wish physically I could remove the pain for Russ.  It is so hard to see my best friend and the love of my life going through this.  I can't even hug him, it hurts him so much.  Please pray for us.  I know I ask this alot, but I don't know what else to do.  Thanks in advance for upholding us in prayer.

Imagine The Possibilities

WOW - I stamped for a challenge over at SplitCoast !!  I saw the Sketch for this week and had to try it out.  I also wanted to prove to myself that I did not forget how to make a fancy card.  Many of the cards I've been making have been clean and simple.  This is not a bad thing, but I wanted to stretch myself a bit.

 

HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW ?!?      I KNOW !!  I still got it, and I thought it had long gone ... hehehe.

The CS I used was soft suede and very vanilla, and the DSP is from the Elegant Soiree pack (#117163).  The stamp sets are Notably Ornate (#120561 clear ; #117098 wood) which is the bird, and Word Play (#120651 clear ; #120308 wood) for the sentiment.  I did some paper piercing with my mat pack (#105826) along the edge of the image layer, and added some kraft taffeta (retired) to the diamond layer.  I tied in some Victoria Trim (#118481) and then covered the knot with an Antique Brad (#17273). 

I like the sentiment because you can use it for so many thing ~ birthdays, retirement, graduation, moving, etc.  Thanks for always stopping back.  Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

Cinnaheart Art

Russ is having a hard time with everything.  Yes, I am too, but I am not in the position that he is in, so there is no feeling sorry for myself.  I do what I have to do, and lean on my Almighty God at ALL times for the strength to get me through.

One of the hardest things for Russ is eating.  He is so hungry, but he has an awful taste in his mouth.  One thing he does is suck on mints to help.  He has always loved cinnamon hearts and so I crafted for him today.

I took a Sea Salt refill bottle and covered it with the new Love Letter DSP (#117162).  I used 2 new ribbons from the SU catty, Victoria Crochet Trim (#118481) and the black 1/8 taffeta (#119261).  The red CS strips on the top and bottom of the DSP are  from a new Sizzix Die in the mini that STARTS TODAY !!  It is called Tasteful Trim (#120893) and it cuts 4 different strips appr. 12 inches long!!  The black rhinestones are also in the new mini (#120987).

Here is a close up of the tag that I created.  The red layer is punched with the Decorative Label (#120907) and then matted on black.  I cut that layer by hand, and then added the eyelet to it for my ribbon.  The sentiment was stamped in black from Oval All (#113790), and I used my white gel pen (#105021) to accent the letters.  I stuck on one more rhinestones and then adhered it to the botte with dimensionals, so that it wouldn't move around.

This will hopefully be a nice surprise for his desk this morning.  Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

 

Crystal Effects Laughter

 

So, this is the card I was telling you about HERE.  I used one of the stencils from the new Mini Catalog (starts Sept. 1) called Vintage Frames (#120910).  This is a 5 X 5 card, so it gives you an idea of the size of that framed flourish.

The punch is also from the mini called Decorative Label (#120907) and it perfectly fits the sentiment from Word Play (#120651 clear ; #120308 wood).  This new sentiment set is one of my FAVORITES in the big catty.  You may be seeing a lot with that!  The ribbon is the daffodil taffeta and the glitter brads (4 collections) are new in the mini, just in time for Christmas.  The colors I used are peach parfait (In Color), wild wasabi and daffodil delight.  The DSP is Sunny Garden.  The tutorial is at the above link AND a link for you to show is your creations.  Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

GLOSSY CARD STOCK !!

Yes you can, I figured it out yesterday.  I am so pumped about it, as you can tell ... hehehe.  I got my first stencil from the new Stampin' Up! mini catalog, and wanted to try something different.  EVERYONE can sponge down color, (and they all make it look fantastic), but I wanted to be unique.  So, here is what I did with a picture tutorial.

 

I laid down the stencil on top of my 12 X 12 CS.  I proceeded to fill up the holes with Crystal Effects.  You have to WORK FAST, since it will dry to your CS and you can rip your paper.  Take it off immediately, pop all the bubbles and let it dry (overnight is best).

 

You can see some spots where it flooded over, but that was because I did not have it on a flat surface.  Who cares, though, look how awesome that is!  Think of all the things you can stencil with your Crystal Effects(#101055), and the way it adds texture without overwhelming the CS.  Now if this page was finished it would be even better, but I am working on a card to show you!  If you try this, make sure to link below and show everyone what you came up with.  Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

Clean and Simple ... Embellished

I saw the new FTL105 sketch and I decided to play along.  Of course, as you can tell by my title, I kinda added to the card.  I don't think I overdid it though, keeping the embellies to a single color, making them blend easier.

 

I chose my colors off of the new Stampin' Up! Color Coach (#120148) ~ certainly celery, pink pirouette and soft suede.  I could see the pink and celery together, but the soft suede did not jive in my head.  Good thing I kept going, because I really like how it turned out!  The image is from the Just Believe set (#120453 clear ; #116948 wood) as well as the sentiment.  I inked up the image with my markers, though, so I could separate out the flowers in the picture.  I also added it on to the envelope to make it more special.

I added the pink ribbon (retired) and button (new in upcoming mini !!) over the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch strip (#119275).  I really like how soft the card is, but the pop of the suede is effective without being to sharp.  I did sponge the celery layer, too, for a bit of distressing.  Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

 

Paper People =o)

I have GREAT news!!  The last packs of paper arrived and they are all cut.  I do have to buy new envelopes, though, because apparently it is too much paper for the envelopes I had previously purchased ... that means LOTS of paper  *wink, wink*.  I am going to the city tomorrow, and am bringing a stack with me for fitting.  I will have them all in the mail first thing Friday morning, or if I can get them all re-addressed, they will go Thursday evening.  You are also all getting a little surprise from me, so I hope you enjoy. I know you will, though, because as I was cutting, "I" just wanted to play, and had to restrain myself.  Work before pleasure, at least in this case ... hehehe.  Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

A Bit Of An Update On Russ

Well, we have made a decision !!  Up until about 1:00pm today, we had decided to go with chemo.  It seemed like what we needed to do, but we NEVER had any peace about it.  Then had a ThermoScan done.  The gentleman that did it, had way more answers than any doctor we talked to and we decided to follow a regimen that he has created for Russ.  We feel a great load is off now that Russ is going this route, AND he will have a quality of life that is much healthier than anything on chemo.  We did research on the drugs used in chemo, and they are AWFUL.  This way, we will be shrinking the tumors, and getting better at the same time.  Instead of energy being pumped away, it will be rejuvenated and the worst side effect that he will have is night sweats!! 

Not that we do not respect the medical community, because we do, and we NEED them.  This is just where we felt God leading us.  We believe God intervened for Russell, by getting this man to call and want to see Russ.  Thank for the prayers.  There is still a long road ahead, (we found out there is only a 3.5% cure rate for this type in MANS eyes), but we are fully trusting God for a complete healing and are praying to that result.  We do appreciate all the prayers thus far, and covet them in the future.

Now on to a TOTALLY different subject.
