There was a neat sketch today for the challenge, one that I will probably do more than once. I also had to do a spring color, since I got some more embossing folders from All That Scraps yesterday, and one was the Bloom Dots. I'm loving the cheery feel of this card.
All products used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise indicated. I quickly ran downstairs and got my Cuttlebug out, when I seen the package my hubby left on the island. I pulled out the bashful blue, gable green, and pixie pink CS and whisper white. That whisper white paper stamps so nice, the ink *rarely* doesn't go on crisp and clear. I ran the bashful blue through the Cuttlebug with the folder and matted it on the gable green. I cut the white on the angle, tore the top of it and added the strip of green.
For my flowers, I used the Delight in Life set (SAB) and stamped them in black on pixie pink. I then stamped another one on the gable green for the leaves. I cut them all out, but the green I cut apart, this idea came from Thinking Inking by Debbie. You put the funny part from the center of the flower on the underside, so you don't know it wa a flower!!
I then used my Spring Bouquet Flowers punch for the center. I used 2-way glue to add dazzling diamonds for that little bit of *bling*, and doodled with my white gel pen for highlites. I stamped the sentiment from Warmest Regards, using my stamp-a-ma-jig for the proper placement, and glued it onto the bashful blue. I then attached this to the card using dimensionals. Then I went to work adding on the flowers. I wanted them both to be popped up, but felt like one needed to be higher than the other. Since I only have one height of the stampin' dimensionals I decided I had to improvise. Someone may have thought of this before, but to me it was new - STICK TWO TOGETHER!! Talk about a lightbulb moment...I mounted the bottom flower on one dimensional and then the other flower is twice as high on 2 dimensionals. It looks really nice all popped up, and with the C/B folder on the bashful blue, this card has a lot of texture!
Try to get some dimension into your cards, it really adds a special something. Have fun and happy stamping!!
