All products used in the making of this card are Stampin' Up! This picture is quite washed out, but I took SOOO many and this was the best one! This is the color challenge and the sketch combined. I used cool carribean, elegant eggplant, certainly celery and white CS, also, black, white, and tempting turquoise inks. I stamped the floral BG on the eggplant in white only on the top half. With the way the sketch was, I wanted the bottom to remain free for my sentiment, white I embossed with white detail powder. My certainly celery layer was sponged with the same ink and attached with the gold brads.
My white CS squares are 1.5 X 1.5 inches and stamped with the flower from Natural Beauty in black. They were colored with the eggplant and celery WWC, and the turquoise ink with my aqua painter. I then sponged the edges with celery and then matted them on the carribean.
I knew it would be hard to line up all the corners when the are the diamond way (my eyes aren't level...hehehe), so I measured an even line across the celery and matted the two corners right over it. The middle diamond is on dimensionals, and it covers the rest of my pencil line.
I like purple (TOTALLY MY FAV COLOR), but carribean is a hard color for me to like, so needless to say, this is not on *my* list of some of my best work. It is a nice sketch, though, so I will have to do it in some other colors to see what I can come up with.
I try and do the challenges everyday! So now, I want to give a shout out to those who take the time to come up with, and post them EVERY SINGLE DAY !! If you are in a slump, or need some extra inspiration in your stamping, this is the way to go! Thanks to all the challenge posters - YOU ROCK!! Have fun, now go get stamping!!
