OK - so who knew I was going to do this when the challenge was announced this morning? When I seen it, I just had to do something with those pockets again! This card is 4.25 X 4.25 square.
All products are Stampin' Up!, even the font on the tag! I used buckaroo blue, chocolate chip, real red and white CS.
I stamped the linen BG on the blue in night of navy, as well as the pocket and the belt tabs. I did faux stitching on those tabs, too, so it would match the pocket. I stamped the word Father on the red in black and then punched it out with the 3/4 square punch putting it on the back of the pocket. I put stickey strip along the edge of the pocket, EXCEPT the top, and added the brads to be the rivets.
I printed off the sentiment on the white CS using the woodward script for the SU font CD. I punched it out with the small tag punch, and did the red with the bigger punch, stapling on the ribbon. I spritzed my "belt" with water and crumpled it up, to make it look more like leather. I sponged it when it dried with more chocolate to give a bit of dimension, and glued it on, putting the tabs (word window punch) over top. I slid the tag in the pocket, and I've made the card for my hubby from our boys!
I really like doing that leather technique with the CS, it would even make a great mat for a guy card! Have fun and happy stamping!!
OH YEAH - I have music for your browsing pleasure!! BUT PLEASE, let me know if you don't like it on here. I have noticed that it does take a bit longer to load the page, and that would suck on dial-up. So let's take a vote - post a comment and say yes or no to the music. I don't want this to be someplace you stop visiting because of the music!

Hi Julie, I am new to stamping, but I love your blog! I like the idea of your jean pocket card for a Father's Day card. I was wondering how you made the belt look like that.

Such a cute card. I also vote for no music. I usually have iTunes running while I'm blog-browsing and I hate it when a website's song overlaps.
Also wanted to let you know that I tagged you today on my blog.

I just came upon your site and have to say, I love your card ideas. This little Pocket is the best... My friend and I share our stamps and punches. Between the two of us, we have a pretty good collection going. And she just bought that tab punch that you have folded for the belt loops... I think this is a definite card for our next get together. Thank you for the great suggestions... Going to read through some more of your posts now.

hey, women. where's the music. Sorry it had to go, I liked it.

While I love music, I find it difficult to read your blog and listen to music at the same time. It just distracted me. It's not hard to distract me though. I have four kids and I get interrupted constantly. Most of my daily tasks take a few tries before I actually am able to complete them.
Sorry, I hope that doesn't spoil it for everyone else. My vote is no music.

How do I get music to play?
Posted by: Jan W | April 23, 2007 at 08:31 PM
I LOVE your blog, but please no music. It usually comes through too loud, and if I'm on the computer late at night can wake my family. I also enjoy just peace and quiet sometimes....there's so little time for that! Thanks for asking our opinions!

I have dial up and it just takes too long to load. I vote no to music.
I absolutely LOVE your site and look so forward to seeing each project you create!!
Thanks for all you do!

I am not a big fan of music on web sites. I always turn the sound off. I prefer peace and quiet since sometimes it is hard to come by. It is distracting reading the blog. Love your site though.

Love your blog but not a big fan of the music. I would vote no on keeping the music. Keep up the great inspirations and I'll keep visiting (hopefully w/out the music).

Awesome card. I wil definitely be CASEing this one for Fathers day. And I vote "No" for the music. I am just one of those goofy people that it drives me crazy and I am always surfing blogs in the middle of the night when folks are sleeping and then I have my volume up for no apparent reason and then the music comes on and I am in a panic to close the web page before the kiddo wakes up hollering. I love love love all your creations. Thanks for sharing

I was initially startled when the music started playing but then read where you had added the music. It's okay either way for me. I'm a music lover but often have my own music on while I'm blog browsing so would have to turn one or the other off. Ida

I love love love the card. My sound thingy is broken on my comptuer so I can't enjoy the music, but I did notice that it took longer to load. I know I'm a day late and a dollar short, but I've been reading your blog everyday for a few weeks now and you work is inspiring, so tag you're it.

I would vote for no music. I enjoy quiet while I'm taking in your great cards and blog text.

While I LOVE the music, if it does stop folks from enjoying, i am ok with you taking it off. Sure is fun for now, though!

I love the music. It's hard to find country in NJ so I will just have to tune in to your website. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

I get so excited to see your updates daily :-) I too can do without the music - I am just not a fan of music on web pages...sorry...

I could live without the music..it takes longer to load, and I'm not using dial-up. I like your music choices..could each person just click on something if they wanted the music??? I wouldn't stop coming to your blog because of it, though..your blog is too good and creative..thanks!

Myself, I have encountered music on other blogs and don't care for it. Part of the reason is that I do a lot of my blog surfing when my baby is sleeping and I always think soemthing is going to wake her up. I just turn off my sound though.....I also find it distracting when I am reading...not much of a multi-tasker lol

Okay Julie, *since you asked* I'm not a fan of music on blogs. I did notice that it took at least 10 seconds for the posting to load, (most of that time had music.) You do have good taste in music! ;D
Yes, I know that I can always hit the little pause button, but it always takes hitting it twice to silence it. I just don't usually like other people's music when I'm surfing, I either want *MY* music or golden silence. :D
