I used real red, basic black and white CS. I stamped the polka dot petal from Pick a Petal in red on the white and cut it out. I punched out 2 black circles, one with 1 1/4 and another with the 3/4. I glued the petal on the larger circle to make the wings and then added the smaller on top for the head. I did cut a bit off this one to make the right shape. I have seen quite a few of these on SCS and I thought I try it out!
I used my Coluzzle to cut the 2 circles on white and black. I used my cutter kit *love that little tool* to distress the edge on the black. I glued this onto the red that I had stamped with my NEW paisley BG in the same color. I cut my triangles in black and white, glued them and distressed this black piece also. I matted them on my card, and added the ribbons on the edge. I used my mat pack to position my brads, using the 1/16 punch for the holes. These are actually silver brads that I colored with my Sharpie marker - works like a charm!!
I then added the ladybug with a dimensional, and hand drew the little flight path. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to place the sentiment (Polka Dots and Paisley) on the bottom of the circle in black. For the final step, I mounted the red layer to the black with dimensionals.
Now, I have been getting a lot of emails lately about how I use the cutter kit, which one I have, etc. I took some pics of mine, I have the one from Stampin' Up!
There is 4 tools in the cutter kit, scoring tool, perforating tool, cutting tool, and the distresser. There is 7 blades on the distressing tool, and each have a different sharpness, depending on what degree you want yours to be. I like mine really ripped up, so I go around the circle till I find the right one. Then you rub it back and forth along the edge of the CS. You will want to brace the CS, otherwise the pressure used will bend it in the center. It isn't hard at all, and I find it worth every penny. Hope that help, have fun and happy stamping!!
