After I posted the about the DVD tins I got (you can get them HERE), everyone asked what I was doing BESIDES storing stamps with them. ACTUALLY, I am working on something really cool, but can't show you yet. Here is some eye-candy that I CAN show you, though.
For my final project for WorldWin Papers, I wanted to do something special. I decided to take one of my tins that I got, cover it and use it to hold a set of cards. I used some of the Colormates paper, and some of there AMAZING textured CS. It is called RUCHE, and it is almost like handmade paper. It is 65lb cover stock, but it has a really sturdy feel to it.
This is what is looks like. One side is more defined than the other, and it was so awesome to work with. I worked with it like a card front, before adhering it to the tin. I stamped the flowers from Heartfelt Thanks in elegant eggplant and always artichoke (second generation) for the solid flowers. The again full strength with the outline image - I really LOVE 2-step stamping!!
Here are the colors I used for the tin and the cards.
I also used their clear vellum, for the scalloped layer under the indigo. I stamped the sentiment from Wonderful Words on the bottom, and added the strip of paper with the white taffeta. I then added the word window tabs, and some adhesive bling from the $1.50 bin at Michaels.
The note card were just stamped with a the coordinating Stampin' Up! ink, with French Flair, and then a sentiment from In My Thoughts (retired). Don't you think it would make a great gift - FOR YOU!!
That's right. Leave a comment here, on this post, about why Easter is special for you. Maybe it is the REAL reason for Easter, or the family get together, or the CHOCOLATE...hehehe. On Wednesday, I will draw for the winner, and mail you this set. Remember, only one comment per person, and no emails will be included in the draw. This is my way of thanking everyone for stopping by, and the encouraging emails that I receive (besides the comments). They truly make my days brighter! So, this is my friendship tin for you. I really wish I could make each one their own, but I just don't have the tins or the time!!!
