Julie's Color Concoction #23 - Thanks Top Note

JRB JCC23 FS84 thanks Don't you just love playing when you get new stamps, accessories, tools ... pretty much whatevah!!  I got a few dies from Stampin' Up!, I am so pumped that they joined with Sizzix for this catalog, and many more to come.  On to the card, and the colors for this JCC23 are :

  1. old olive
  2. perfect plum
  3. so saffron

This was also for the Featured Stamper challenge over on SCS, and I CASEd Liz's card.   did flip her sketch and did not make a square card, but the idea is the same.

I started with a base of white, and stamped the Baroque Motifs flourishes on it with olive.  I then added a strip to the top, and scalloped the bottom with my scallop edge punch.  The bottom olivestrip, is actually inside the card.  Then the whole thing was sponged, except for the scallop edge.

I cut the Top Note with both plum and white CS, but cut on the perforated edge on the white.  I stamped the Gratuitous Graffiti BG, by coloring with all 3 markers.  I then glued it to the plum, and wrapped the saffron ribbon around it, attaching it to the card with dimensionals.

I stamped the flower from Heartfelt Thanks, by inking it up with my markers, and then sponging the edge in saffron.  This was then matted to the sponged olive, and then to the top note.  I tied the bow using my BowMaker from theCardLadies.com, and then added it to the card with sticky strip.

I stamped the sentiment from Thank You Kindly in olive, punched it out with the small oval and then the the plum with the large oval.  I glued the together, added the saffron brads, and then dotted the edge with the olive marker.  Finally, I attached it to the card with more dimensionals.  Liz did not have a sentiment on her card, but I felt I needed one.

Come play along!!  Make a card using these colors (or a close substitute) and upload it to your blog, or to SCS.  When uploading to SCS, please use the keyword JCC23, and then link it back here in the comments section.  Next week, I will draw from all the entries to see who gets this card.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Such a neat card! Thanks for the tip on cutting on the perforated edge. I will be trying that today! Love your blog!

Julie, do you know if the sissix dies fit through a cuttlebug? I kind of like this one.

Love This Card! It is so scrumptious.. I have been wanting to order the "Top Note" also and after seeing your card, I have definitely decided to do it!

Beautiful card! I love the colors and Heartfelt Thanks is one of my favorite sets. Great job. I love the new Big Shot! I have yet to order mine but I can't wait until I get a chance to dive into the fun.

This is a beautiful card Julie.
I really hope we get the Big Shot in Oz too!
