Amy R Christmas Words Preview

You  are actaully getting TWO peeks here today.  The sentiment is from Amy's new Christmas Words, and the cutie tangled in the lights is from Christmas Time.  These will both be available at All That Scraps on November 2.

I used more traditional colors for this card - glorious green and ruby red.  I made a flag for my sentiment to cover a boo-boo ... hehehe.

  I colored the image with Copics, and then covered the bulbs with Crystal Effects.  You can see here how they shine.  I also punched out a vellum snowflake, covering it in stickles.  Click on the picture for a closer view.

Country Shelf Preview - All That Scraps

I made a trio of cards with Diane's newest set.   These images are going to be perfect for all of you "Inchie" lovers, there are 15 images that are perfect for punching out!  There is also 8 sentiments and a shelf/table to put them on.  It will be released over at All That Scraps on November 2.

Here are the close up shots.  I punched out shapes to sponge over and create the dimension.  I added the adhesive pearl to the heart, the glossy accents on the cat (to look like porcelain kitty), and stickles on the flower center.  I really think the sponging made the cards!  Try it sometime.

New Desk Pics

So, here is my newest craft room addition!  This is the Expedit bookcase from IKEA, with the attached desk.  I also bought 2 door and 2 drawer inserts, but I only have one of each in there yet.  It fit perfectly (with the Alex beside) in the spot where the old desk sat.  I have more room, though, because I don't have the "U" shape.  So, I now have 6" X 6" wall of storage space, as well.  There are going to be some shelves on the wall above this, too, but right now, I just have to finish getting everything organized.

So, here's how you know I am going to have a lot of room to store stuff in each  self.  Jay (who is 5), was totally hiding in there when I came in the room...LOL.  I better hurry up and fill them up, so it does not become the newest game for him to play!!

The holder for my ink pads is a wooden cassette holder.

 

Update On Jayden

Well, yesterday went better than expected.  Though he did not rule out the "C" word, he said it was very unlikely at Jay's age.  But to be sure, he wanted some tests done, as well as tests for other suspicions. 

The specialist is not sure what it is, but is leaning toward an ongoing infection (probably months long).  He had to have xrays, as well, but he said that had nothing to do with the lump, he just didn't like the sound of his breathing.

I was REALLY PROUD of Jayden, though.  He had to have quite a lot of blood taken, and so I told im he was going to have a poke (needle).  He hates getting needles, and proceeded to tell me that if they were going to do that, he was going to cry.  I said, that's OK, but they do have to poke you.  So, we got up in the chair, and I help him on my lap.  They got him ready, explaining what they were going to do.  I asked him if he wanted me to cover his eyes, and he said no. 

HE TOTALLY WATCHED THEM !!  He never flinched when they stuck the needle in, never cried, nothing.  He was a brave little soldier and he got 2 stickers and a circle band-aid.  I won't know anything until Thursday, and I'll be sure to let you know.  Thanks for the prayers, I really felt them today as I sat there listening to the doctor, I was not stressed at all.  So thanks, again.

Prayer Request

I know I often ask for prayer for others on here.  When I find out about things others are going through, I realize my life is pretty awesome and my problems seem minor in comparison.  I would like to keep them small, so I ask for prayer today.

You see, I found a lump on Jayden's neck awhile back.  I didn't think much of it, but it kept getting bigger.  I showed the doctor at his last appointment (5 year old check up), and he did not like the look or the placement of it - lymph node area.  He asked if i shrank and got bigger (like lymphs are supposed to do), but no it just keeps getting bigger.  Right now, it is about the size of my thumbnail. 

Today, Jayden has an appointment with a pediatric specialist.  They never told me any specifics, so I'm not sure what kind of specialist.  I'm scared, but I don't want to voice the fears for then they may come true (know what I mean ?).  It may be nothing, but I would rather have folks praying with me.  I don't believe in "chance", I believe in God !!

Time Enough

MODERN technology allows us to both speed up time and slow it down. In a television-makeover program, a garden or home is transformed in minutes. But in real life beautiful gardens take years of hard work, and redecorating is not as easy as it looks on TV. On the other hand, modern technology can also slow down time, as we see in the endless slow-motion replays of decisive moments in sporting events. The past is gone; the future comes at its own pace. In reality, we cannot rewind or speed up our life.

We may look back with regret, anger, and resentment at all our dashed hopes, at all our "if onlys." Or at times we may consider the future bleak and want to rush past it. But we cannot alter time. What we have is God's gift of today and the freedom to choose how to live it.

The apostle Paul gave us an example when he wrote, "Forgetting what is behind ... I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:13-14, NIV). Like Paul, we can take each day's opportunities to use the gifts that God has given us.

Happy For You...

On your birthday!  I had a review yesterday for All That Scraps, and since this set  was also up for the day, I thought I'd share it today. 

This is the Birthday Bash set, as well as a sentiment from AmyR's Congrats Sentiments.

Did you know that you can get edible glitter for on your cupcakes- I KNOW!!  So awesome!  So, then I had to cover the icing in stickles (Click on it for a better look).  I also added the Ghost Flower for a little something extra.

I pierced the sentiment panel, added the ribbon, and the image was attached with dimensionals.  I really like how it turned out.

I'm still working on my room, and will post pics tomorrow hopefully.  Sunday is going to be a big day, since we have our church's Grand Opening.  It has been growing A LOT lately and we just needed a new sanctuary, and Sunday School rooms.  Have fun and happy stamping!

Angel Emma Review

Yes, I got to stamp a little this morning, but my room is still a mess.  The old desk that you saw in yesterday's post is still sitting in the center of the room and won't be moved until tonight.  Hence (thought I'd throw that word in there...hehehe), I have to work around it and can't get to everything.

  Since I don't have my photo area up yet, either, I had to makeshift something for photographing the card.  Still, the sweetness of the images still come through.  These are from the Angel Emma set.

I paper pieced the trumpet with some gold paper, and added some primas to the top.  As you can tell, I am really into the pearls lately, but the look perfect on Christmas cards.
