I saw a challenge awhile ago to make an accordion card. Since, I wanted to use the new Scallop Square Die from Stampin' Up!, I had to make it sized for that. I made a tutorial to go along with it, so y'all could make one too.
You need a sheet of 12 X 12 CS, and you can cut it into 3 pieces of 4 X 12. You will need 2 of them for this tutorial. If you want more accordion folds, add the other one in, but I will work with 2. You also need the fronts and backs, so I cut out 2 pieces from the chipboard from the DSP packs with the scallop square. I also cut the CS to cover them, but they are not pictured.
You will then score your 4 X 12 pieces at 4 and 8.
You will fold them with hills and valleys, as shown. You are going to be joining them together, like I have them set up in the second picture. The fold with the star on it need to be cut off. Lay out your CS as pictured, so you will make sure to cut the correct one off. When it sits on the table it should be a "W" shape.
Then you will glue the two accordions together. Now, the size of one square in your accordion is the perfect size to have the lovely mat behind it from the scallop. Glue one square from each end of the accordion to one of the scallop squares.
This is how it should look after you have put it all together. I am working on the finished project and will have that up ASAP! Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!
