Well, was I in for a shock last night. Never in my ENTIRE life, did I think that my hubby would say what he said to me yesterday. He is building a new house right now that he designed - Amazing, by the way - and was looking for colors since it is to the painting stage right now. This is what he said ...
"Since you know so much about color with stamping, could you match some papers together and come up with something nice?"
After 5 years, he has finally figured out that stamping can be used in EVERY situation - BWAHAHAHA!!
Here are the colors I came up with for him, and he went to the paint store this morning armed with pieces of CS, so he can match them up.
Sahara Sand, Mellow Moss, and Basic Grey.
I used copper hodge podge (retired), as the accent on the card. I think I am going to tell Russ that he should do the taps, hardware, and light fixtures with that, as well. The grass stamp is from Inspired by Nature and is stamped first in moss and then always artichoke for some depth. The card is also sponged with artichoke. The sentiment is from the Sweet Birthday stamp, but I used a marker for just the words.
I think the colors for the house will be calming and modern, but fairly neutral. Try a card with these colors and link back here for me to go and check it out. Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

I love this card soooo much! Please Julie e-mail me with instructions on how this was made! I truly love it!!!!!

Beautiful color combination! I love the copper with it, too!
I'm re-doing my kitchen, laundry, and dining room. Could you please fly down to Indiana and help me pick out colors? I'm overwhelmed. LOL!

What a great card! I too would love to see the pictures of the house!

a friend of mine has her house painted in these colors and I LOVE to visit her as the environment it creates is just so peaceful and calm. You will love it! I too would go with the brushed stainless taps, they will reinforce the greys whereas the coppers will clash (IMHO)

Your card and color selection is beautiful. I agree with the reasons for your selections; the color scheme promotes calm, for sure! TFS

I love the colors you chose. I'm tired of the browns & taupe. I wanted grey carpeting a few years ago & had a hard time finding it!
I like my grey with blue, but the Mellow moss you chose looks great. Love your card too! Beth

Well, I like it! Grey is only going to get more popular in my opinion. And the copper adds a lovely warm touch - though I would go with an antique copper, not a brassy one.

These are lovely colours for your card, however, in our area, colours for new construction are browns and taupes. We recently bought a green house and my husband can hardly wait for warmer weather so he can paint it! We've also noticed several prev. green houses in the neighbourhood have changed to brown/taupe. May I respectfully suggest taking a drive in the new areas to get some ideas.

I love the colours you chose but I would not recommend the copper for the house accents - unless they are outside.
I would recommend going with a neutral like brushed stainless inside - still goes with your colour scheme but will not look dated after a few years.
This coming from someone who has coppery/brass doorknobs, taps, vent covers, light fixtures etc.. and is slowly changing them out!
