This has been my song in the last few days. The doctors have given us news, but we are choosing to believe that in this situation God is going to prove that He is mighty.
Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The doctors are saying that the love of my life, husband, father of my children, has been affected by the C word. I will not even type it out, because I want to focus on what God can do, and not on the symptoms or circumstances. Man says things do not look good, but my God says that nothing is impossible with him. That is what we are standing on ~ promises of God.
I am asking that you pray for strength, and endurance as we run this race before us. Pray for peace, even for our boys, as they are not understanding why daddy is so sick. Your prayers have really lifted us, and we are honestly at peace and resting in God's hands. Thanks for those that have been standing in the gap for us. We are stepping out in faith and accepting God's healing for Russ, and hope you will pray the same way. Our God who made the earth, created us everyone, has solved this problem like it is nothing!
Thanks for the verses that were typed out for me, I will meditate on them daily! May God keep you all in his care, just as he is watching us.

Julie:
You are truly a beautiful person inside and out. You are an inspiration to so many people and I hope that we can now be an inspiration to you. I have gone through a similar situation that you are now going through. My husband's doctors diagnosed the C word in April of last year and we have been fighting it hard since then. This song and these words "Through It All" have come up so many times, God is so good! He will be our focus and our guide "Through It All". Please continue to believe this through out the fight. We will continue to pray you through this storm and we will continue to pray for your family, your husband, and yourself to have the strength to fight this. Remember that you never know how strong you are till you face a storm and that God gives us the strength to continue to face the storm. Look to God for your strength and love! This will make your family stronger and you and your husband stronger! May God Bless!!

Julie, yours was the first blog I ever followed; I really love it and your talent. I am praying for you and your family as you go through this together. As Russ is on his way to recovery, please remember to take care of YOURSELF as well. Sometimes it may seem selfish, sometimes you may have to say no and disappoint someone, but it is so important. I took care of my husband for 2 years and I learned a lot. God bless you and keep your positive attitude--it is so powerful!!

Prayers for your family. As a side note, last year my DH was diagnoised with a very large thyroid tumor which looked fine, but in the end was cancer. He had 2 surgeries in 10 days and radiation treatments. This all took place 3 months after our house fire and while we were still displaced. These were some of the darkest days of my life, but looking back I wouldn't trade all that the Lord taught me and showed me during that time. His grace was suffient. Praise God! Through much prayer and just resting in God's hand my hubby is now cancer free one year later and will not have to have any more scans until Janurary and we are now moved back into our lovely and completely renovated home. Your video you posted brought back so many memories. Selah's song, Hold On and the album it is on was such a source of strength for me during those dark days. May the Lord give you and your family the strength to "Hold On". Blessings,Renee

Julie, first of all - - you are LOVED! I am in awe of so many responses of love and concern. I will pray for Russ, and put his name on the LDS Temple Prayer Rolls here in Utah. My husband was once in a coma and wasn't expected to live. Prayers went up from ALL DIFFERENT faiths, and Heavenly Father hears them ALL. My heart is heavy for you and the tremendous amount of worry that you must be going through. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your whole family..... Hugs!! Julie in Utah

hi,
I am a relatively new SU demo in Canada (6 months). I came across your site in looking for tutorials and ideas for upcoming classes.
I was saddened to read this post. My own husband recently lost his battle to the big C. I hope that your outcome is much happier. If you ever need someone to talk to, I am here for you. I know you have a bumpy road ahead of you. ((many hugs))

Julie, according to your faith be it done unto you! You and Russ WILL come through this trial victoriously. Faith is the victory. Remember, when you put the diagnosis/word of the doctors above the Word of God that says by the stripes on Jesus' back, Russ is healed, you make the doctors into a idol to trust in above God! It's that simple. God's Word is above any other word. Science does not stand above God. Sight does not stand above faith. Having done all to stand, then STAND and you WILL see the deliverance God will bring. No matter what you see or what is said to you. My sister was healed of lupus, asthma, arthritis and kidney stones!! She is alive and healthy today. God WILL heal Russ. Plead the blood of Jesus over him daily. You will be in my prayers.

So sorry you have to go through this nightmare. Always remember Who is in control. The first thing I did after reading your message was lift up Russ, you and the boys in prayer. With so many prayers from so many "friends" being lifted to the Throne, I am sure the prayers are heard, and if He hears us, He answers us. Take extra care of you during this time. Your family needs you more than ever during this time. Your family will be in my prayers. Many blessings.

God bless each of you in His own special way. I lost my husband, love of my life, two years ago to cancer and our sons are now 14 and 16. Although I don't like the outcome, I always feel blessed we had him in our lives and had time to say all those things you want to say. So many never have that chance. I wish peace for each of you even if only momentarily.

Praying that you will continue to be strong for your husband and your boys, and as is evident on your blog here, that your open heart and faith will reach out and speak to many who otherwise would not be open to God's word. May God continue to be with Russ, you, your boys and all your extended family, as well as the medical community serving you.

A survivor on a website I visit declared "I didn't fight cancer, cancer had to fight me...and I won!" Gotta love that attitude. Keep the faith, Julie and we'll keep Russ and your family in our prayers.

Julie,
Your projects have been so helpful to me. When my husbands "C" symptoms and treatments start to get to me, I check out your blog and head to my craft room to try to make them. It's amazing the things that can help us to make it to the next day...one day at a time. I will be thinking about you and your family.

Please know that everyone of your Stampin Up sisters and brothers are praying for you and your family each and every day that you are going through this painstaking time. Please take care of yourself so you can be strong for those boys and please do keep us all informed. Big Hugs to everyone and may the Faith of the Lord grow stronger each day.
Posted by: Mary Ann Daugherty | July 30, 2010 at 08:57 PM
When you hear the "C" word as I did 8 years ago it is devastating. But I went to bed that night praying that God would give me peace with the situation. I asked him to show me each day that he had his hand on me. God answered my prayers. When I woke up the next morning I was filled with that "indescribable peace". Everyday God showed me that he was watching over me and my family. I am praying for your husband for healing and for strength, comfort, and peace for you and the boys. God gave me a second chance at life. I am a 8 year survivor of breast cancer! When you don't know how to pray, it helps to know that others are interceding for us.

Dear Julie,
I strongly believe in the power of prayer and in miracles. Ten years ago, my sister was stage 3. The doctors also said things. But through faith in God and the prayers of family and friends, she is still with us and going strong. I will keep you, Russ, and the boys in my prayers that all will be well. May God Bless all of you.

Julie,
Many prayers and positive thoughts headed your way.
Don't know if you have a large group that you need to keep 'in the loop' but when my mom was terribly ill I was the one tasked to do that and it was very stressful. I wished I had known about http://www.carepages.com/. These are free blogs for families in health situations like you find yourself now. It could be more private than updating on an ordinary blog because people have to register to visit the site and you can further limit visitors by requiring approval the first time someone visits. I'm not affiliated in any way, just have the experience to know how helpful it might be. If you have a friend or family member asking what they might do to help, you might ask them to check it out and/or set it up.
Hugs and take gentle care of yourself. This is a marathon not a sprint.

One thing I try to remember:"Be still and know that I am God". May God wrap you and your family in his healing light.

My heart goes out to you and your family. We are miles apart but I read you daily and you have been an inspiration in so many ways. I will offer my daily work as prayer to God for Russ and your family. May the love in these many messages lift you up and give you the special strength God reserves for women at a time like this. God Bless You, Julie.

Julie you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I know very well what your are going through...we were told in June that my husband has cancer. We have had 2 chemo treatments and will have a ct scan next wed. to decide what the next step will be. Be strong, which I know is hard but automatic. Lean on those around you and don't forget about yourself. Please email me if you feel you need to king5nc@yahoo.com and we can go through this together. Prayers and blessings Sharon King

Julie, I can only imagine how scared you must feel - I'm sure because as a mother, you must feel as though you are the glue and need to keep everyone together. There are many advances, as you know, in the technology of what can be done these days. My prayers are with you.

I've never posted on your blog even though I check it daily, you inspire me creatively, you have inspired me to loose 80 pounds over this past year and you inspire me with your attitude. I will stand in prayer for your family. My brother has been cancer free for over 10 years. Our God is a good God. Thank you for letting us know, now you have added so many prayers.
Big hugs,
Jenn
