I decided to participate in the 2011 One Word challenge, and here it is.
This was the one Christmas decoration that I made for myself ( it HAD to be purple!! ). I chose the word "hope", since I have a lot of that for the new year. Things will get better and I am excited to see what it holds. It can be very hard some days, but I am placing my HOPE in the Lord for a great year ahead. What is your word that you are going to live towards everyday?

Hope was my word for 2010. This year my little word is peace. I hope that all good things happen for you in the year 2011 and beyond. :)

Good for you! My word for the year is choose or choice. I can't choose what happens but I can choose how I respond to it. I have been so awed by you this year. I want to thank you for sharing this very personal and heartbreaking journey. Continuing to pray for you and the boys.

KINDNESS...to live by the Law of Kindness, Proverbs 31

May your family's new year be filled with the Hope and Promise of our Lord Jesus Christ.
My word would be JOY. Jesus Others Yourself
I love to be happy and want others to be that way also. Of course we can't always be happy because things happen. We can have joy though when we look to the One who has us in the palm of His hand Jesus Christ even in the midst of the most trying times.

CREATE. Creating makes my heart happy and when I GIVE what I create, it brings JOY to someone else's heart! So ... by creating I get three in one! :)

HELP. To HELP others. Less me and more them. To actually "love" people as the Lord wants us too. That is my wish for 2011.

Great word choice! Years ago, when I was feeling really down and 'hopeless' I discovered that my name actually meant hope, funny how something so little can transform your thinking! I love your ornament by the way, I think I'll have to case this one for sure!

LISTEN-less of me and my plans and more silence and listening to the still small voice that tells me what God's plans are for me.

Great decoration. I, too, am drawn to purple. I think my word is determination. I am determined to keep the promises I made to myself on New Years Eve.

Julie,
Thanks for getting me thinking...I like the words everyone has used so far... I decided my word for this year would be JOY! I want to have Joy in my life, with my family, in my work, and in my creations. I want to show Joy in how I live my life. I want this to come across in all that I do and say, because I am so grateful for all that I have. Most of all I want to have express the JOY I have in my Savior and my Heavenly Father for they give us all.
Thank you for your example as you have dealt with Russ' passing and I wish you the best in all you are going through right now. I know with the continued HOPE you have in Christ that he will help and lift you up. Praying for you and your boys.

My one word is peace. Peace in the world, peace in my heart, peace within my home and family. I believe peace enables love, faith, laughter, joy and hope to all come together.

I have given this much thought over the past few days and believe my word for this new year will be laughter. I have discovered over the past months that laughter is a perfect way to make any situation a little brighter in that when someone makes you laugh, it means they care & love you so much to make a sad day turn into a better one.
I have been thinking of you and your boys often Julie and do hope the best for you this coming new year.
