I have had a few emails recently asking to see the boys. They're getting so big, soon 10 and 9 !! They just got some kitties and needed to have a picture taken, so I thought I'd share with you, as well. Have a great long weekend.
Same as the card I created before, I wanted to try it with a color, not necessarily associated with trees, BLUE ! I thought it would create a nice accent for the card, so Malibu Mist was my choice.
Such a soft card, compared to the last one. The satin ribbon, DOES put this one over the top, so I would personally give this to a girl, but have twine or maybe even some brads at the top of that panel instead of adding ribbon, and it would also be a great guy card. My base was crumb cake and sponging was done with both crumb cake and malibu mist. The top stamping was done with espresso, as well as the faux stitching on the ribbon panel. Again, an easy technique to pull off, with fascinating results. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Father's Day is fast approaching (next Sunday - AHHH), but I am prepared and have a great card to show you that will be a quick one to pull off. I gave it a masculine feel with fall colors, sponging and distressing. Sure, there is some ribbon, but it is a manly ribbon, check it out !
I used More mustard as a base, some DSP and very vanilla CS as well. The ribbon is espresso, and it doesn't seem too over the top for me. The technique for the Lovely As A Tree stamp is a wet watercolor.
MINI TUTORIAL ALERT : I soak my CS with a spray bottle, then I ink up my stamp (more mustard). Then I also spray my stamp until wet, and then stamp it down. The color spread nicely to create the base for the image. Then I wait for it to dry (or use my heat gun ... lol) and then stamp the darker color on top, in this case espresso.
It really is a easy technique that gives a little extra to the card. Have fun and happy stamping!!
I have given out the card, so I can finally show you what I came up with for the Dresser Fold card. I am ABSO-POSI-LUTELY in love with how this card turned out !!
I hand stamped the number panel, and colored in all the numbers. I sponged in the sky and used the cupcake punch for the balloon basket. This was a fun card to make, with all the bright colors and dimension. The instructions for the fold are from this post HERE, have fun and happy stamping!!
