I am into making cards with only one color plus white, lately. I really like the POP of it, and today, is no exception. My Mom asked me for a card to give to her pastor. They are having a Pastor Appreciation Sunday for him this weekend, and she said she wanted to give the BEST card (I think she's biased, but it made my day...hehehe). So here is what I came up with.
The color I chose to add was silver (Brushed Silver CS from Stampin' Up!). The stamp set I used is Flourished Christian Symbols from Our Daily Bread Designs.
The base is a white (4.25 X 5.5) and the silver is 4 X 5.25. Then I cut a piece of white AND vellum, both to 3.5 X 4.75. I stamped the sentiment on the white in basic grey, so it would lighten up through the cardstock weight vellum.
The bird was stamped on the vellum with silver Encore Ink (SU), and then embossed with Iridescent Ice Powder. As you can see, it is so sparkly!! I attached the two layers together with silver brads, and then punched 2 holes with my rectangle punch. I threaded the ribbon through, so that it would not go over my image and then knotted it. I got this ribbon from WalMart. Then to finish it up, I adhered it to the card base with dimensionals. My Mom absolutely loved it - YAY! On the inside of the card, I added another sentiment, "You ministry is a blessing", and left room for her to write her own message. I hope you like it, as much as she did.
