Big Circle Wishes

I made a card again tonight, and I had such a good time doing it. I just got home from Grande Prairie, looking for a home for our soon-to-be new family. We think we may have found something, so I was in for making a cheery card.

 

Just punched out different DSP in different sizes, added some buttons, and pierced a bit around some of the circles. A few were raised on dimensionals, and the sentiment is inked up with markers before stamping down. The base is certainly celery and a strip of white to ground the circles. Gentle Thanksgiving

The Canadian Thanksgiving is coming up in a big hurry - One Week Away !!

So, I decided to make a card to celebrate the occasion. I was excited to use my new stamp set that I received as a bonus from Stampin' Up! - Gently Falling (123804 - unmounted). I used a lovely technique to color my leaves.

 

I colored the solid leaves with my markers (pumpkin pie, old olive, and cajun craze) and then spritzed it with water before stamping. Then after it dried, I stamped the outline in Early Espresso, cutting the leaves out freehand. I punched out the circle with Very Vanilla, pierced the edges, and glued the bottom one and adhered the second one with a dimensional. I added the espresso ribbon and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and then spritzed the whole card with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. This would also make a great guys card, if you would keep off the shimmer.

My Marina Friend

 

I used another pattern from the Beau Chateau DSP for this card. I made the flower (Tutorial Here) with early espresso and added the jumbo brad and rhinestone to the center. I then drew a flourish and added the rhinestones to it. The sentiment is also stamped in espresso. I'm calling this look "simply beautiful". It is a clean and simple card, but it has a beauty to it with all the elements, and it only took about 20 minutes to complete!! Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

I made some more of those roses and am having a BLAST ! Yes, the tutorial is coming *YAY*. I could should you the link on YouTube, but you know how you link to a video, and then link from that, and link, etc. I went to try and find it again and no luck, since there is so much prima videos on there ... lol. Here is the card, that I made.

 

I know you are tearing up at how FANTABULOUS this is, and I do not blame you. I could scarcely believe that my hands created it!! Christmas Frame

For some reason I was in a Christmas mood the other night, and decided to pull out a stamp set I have only used once before - Greeting Card Kids (120633 - clear). I started with my color, cherry cobbler. I wanted to make a card using that color, and for the obvious reason, Christmas came to mind. So I pumped out Christmas tunes while I stamped. OH YES I DID !!!

 

While I was playing with punches, I accidentally made this frame and thought it would work great. Trying to find an image that would fit was the hardest, so when this worked I totally went with it. I also used a piece of DSP from the Regals pack, and finished off with the ribbon. The piercing around the back mat really ties into the frame. I also added the pearls as a nice accent on the corners, after attaching it with dimensionals.

I used THIS TUTORIAL or VIDEO for coloring the little girl and the marker colors I used are :

• Face - Blush Blossom, Pink Pirouette
• Coat/Tights - Pretty in Pink, Cherry Cobbler
• Sleigh - Basic Grey, Sahara Sand
• Tree - Certainly Celery, Garden Green

All the darker colors listed are what I used for the shadows. On the white (hat, scarf, mittens), I just colored Sahara Sand on the shaded areas, and then spread it with my aqua painter. Watercoloring used to be my favorite technique and doing this card was so satisfying. Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

 

Purple Pears

I got to stamp again today, and it is a completely different style from THIS CARD. I did take my inspiration from THIS CARD, though, and loved the newest result. First of all, it is purple and that in itself makes it a great piece of paper. The I added pearls, satin ribbon, and punches - OH MY !! What did I create, you say ...

 

STUNNING, RIGHT ?!?

The colors I chose were pear pizazz (totally goes with the image , eh ... lol), elegant eggplant, and perfect plum. I had to use my cutter kit *love that little tool* to distress the eggplant layers, did some piercing and some water coloring. Instead of white, I used sahara sand, and that way the color isn't too intense.

I punched some 1/4 circles for under the pearls, and I feel it gives it more of a base, since I went with the smaller ones. Also the ribbon is celery, but it matches perfectly. Man it feels good to be inky a bit more often. Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

Rainbow Smiles

I have been going through scrapbooking magazines lately. I feel I need to really look at layouts before I can actually DO a scrapbook. While I was paging through an old Creating Keepsakes one I have, I saw a layout with strips of CS that were sewn on in a rainbow scheme. LOVED IT !! It was a little too girly for anything I could use, so I decided to take that inspiration and make a card.

 

This is a P-E-R-F-E-C-T way to use up scrap DSP, and it also makes such a cheerful card for birthdays, get well wishes, congratulations, anything! As you can tell, not one of the patterns in the same, or even following a theme, I just went by color and it totally worked.

The base color is pacific point and I think it adds to the bright colorful feel. I tried black, but it took away from what I was going for. I totally feel happier looking at this card, and I hope you do too. Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

A Misty CASE

Yesterday was the Featured Stamper challenge over on SCS and I decided to play along. Joy had some lovely cards in her gallery, but the one that caught my eye was so plain but decidedly elegant. Here is the card I chose to CASE. And this is what I created.

 

First obvious changes are the colors and the images. While I still did use the grey, the black was switched out for Marina Mist, and the image is from Just Believe (116948 - wood ; 120453 - clear), masking the bottom, so it wouldn't ruin my piercing. That was another change out for the sewing, but I also left off the pearls. After I stamped the image, I also lined some of the leaves with the black marker, to make it more like a line image and give dimension. The nice thing about this card, is the sentiment goes on the inside, so the surprise is there for the person opening it. Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

 

My Rosy CASE

My sister-in-law and I needed to make cards, and so I went through my blog to find a card for a sort of INSPIRATION CHALLENGE for the both of us. I went back pretty far to find this one HERE, all the way back to June 2007 !!! When you see that card, you will know I went pretty literal with it.

 

The color I used was Rich Razzleberry and the technique for coloring the flower is an old one, I tell you about it HERE. I stamped, embossed and cut out 3 roses. I used the razzleberry DSP and CS, with the white. My greens were certainly celery and always artichoke for the leaves and flourishes. My sentiment comes from the same set as the previous card - Sincere Salutations. For this card, I used pearls along with brads.

 

Here is the reason for cutting out 3 roses, paper tole. Each layer goes smaller to the top, and then I curled and bent up the edges for a more realistic looking flower. I love the way this technique works for this particular flower, PERFECTLY.  Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!

Rockin' Block Birthday

I have seen a lot of stamping with the clear blocks since they came out and I finally decided to try my hand at it. Since this technique lends itself best to a one layer card, or a clean and simple style, I decided to make the card suited for that - a guys card !

 

I used pool party and island indigo on my blocks to stamp them down. I used the Extreme Guitar for my guy and the Extreme Elements in grey (stamped off) for some added interest. I decided to layer it on indigo for a nice base. I think this is a great way to pump out cards, say for birthday invitations, quick thank you cards, easy mailing Christmas cards. Change the colors and the images, and this creates a multitude of options - try it today. Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!
