Unmounted Stamp Storage Solution !

JRB stamp storage I am so in LOVE with the new stamp storage binders from All That Scraps.  Look how many stamps I can fit on one sheet (you get them in sets of 4)!?!  You can see the cute swiss pixies on the top, and they are the stamps being reviewed over at the ATS Blog today.  Head over there, to see what the design team created as eye candy today!

Copic Storage Answers

Copics are not like Stampin' Up! , or any other water based markers.  I have had a few questions about storing them vertically.  Because they are an alcohol based marker, they don't have to be storing horizontally.  Yes, your SU markers MUST BE laid flat to stay even on both ends, but with Copics - NoWorries, Mate.

That was a weak reference to my time spent with my ex-fiance in Australia - I only miss the accent and the weather...hehehe.

Well, I am busy going through my camera.  We are actually at our cabin right now, and have been doing a lot of work here.  I have more pictures to post, but that will have to come in another post.  Hopefully, I answered your questions, though.

New Copic Storage !

JRB Copic Storage

Kitchen tools to the rescue!!  I bought one of the Pampered Chef rotary tool caddies for my Copics, after I realized the one in my kitchen would work perfectly for the job!  It is not even full yet, so I have room to buy more...hehehe.

More Deets and a Few Questions Answered

First off, the details on THIS  PROJECT.  The size of the book is 8.5 X 5.5.  I just cut the CS in half and then cut the chipboard the same size.  The tabs for dates are made using the round tab punch with baja breeze and chocolate chip CS.  The stamps I used were Calendar, It's A Plan (this one is double sided!!!), and Friends 24-7.  I also used the retired Calendar Cues to mark off dates.

Secondly - A LOT of questions were asked about my cabinet.  It is 7 feet tall x 21 inches wide x 11.5 inches deep.  I made it to keep my 8.5 x 11 CS.  I keep my 12 X 12 CS and chipboard in These Holders.  I am also going through my scrap bin, and will keep the same color scraps (in file folders) with the packages of paper, hoping to use them up before I cut new ones.

In about a month, I am hoping to have some awesome news for you!  I'll keep you posted about that, as well.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Paper Heroes !!

JRB paper heroI have 2 new heroes right now.  Their names are Jack and Gord.  You see, I custom designed a paper cabinet for myself.

Jack, the owner of the shop, and very close friends of ours, is a hero for just saying yes to building it.

Gord, is my hero, because he made it EXACTLY the way I wanted it.  He asked me, if he could swear at me, and call me names while he made it.  When I said, "Do what ever you want (I knew he would anyway), I just don't want to hear it."  He then gave the OK.

You see, I wanted him to groove the shelves into the wood.  Not use clips to prop them up.  I'm sure a company that made these for a living would do that without a hitch, but this company makes kitchen cupboards.  So, he had to groove each self separately.  That is 120 individual small grooves in this cabinet.  They had to be straight and level with each other, AND go right to the front of the cabinet without actually breaking through.

Some may consider it pricey($400), but considering it's custom made, I got it for a steal!  It is 7 feet tall, and 21 inches wide.  I needed it that size, since I only had one spot in my room that it would work.  No, he will not make you one for that price.  Retail would be A LOT higher.

The cupboards on the bottom are still empty (I only got it about 1 hour ago...hehehe), but there are no shelves in them.  I am going to use it for storage of my magazines, books, and whatever else I can cram into there.  The biggest thing was just to get my paper flat.

I can hardly wait to get my room organized.  I will have a tour for your when it is done.  Don't expect it anytime soon.  I have to work on it bit by bit.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

A Little Organization

Can go a LONG way to helping us crafters out!

JRB punch ink wall   See those punches on the rods above my ink pads?  They were all on my desk until last night!  The other 4 rods were there already, but they were kinda full.  Yep, I was running out of room to stamp.  Now, I have room to stamp, AND they are still right where I can see them!  I got the curtain rods at the $1 store for, you guessed it $1.  So for the EXTREMELY LOW price of $2, I got 25 punches up and organized.  Course, now I have to buy more rods, because these are full...LOL.  Now, I have no more punches at this moment to hang up, but you know that with the next catty I will...BWAHAHAHAHA!!

JRB punch drawer   I do have more punches, but they cannot hang up like the others.  There is about 25 in this drawer.

I hope this gives you a little organization idea.  And it can be done without your hubby there..hehehe.

Cutting With the Cuttlebug and Nestabilities

I put another video together, this time to show you the way to cut with the Nesties.  After the video, make sure you scroll to the bottom of the post.  I have added a picture howing you how I store my Nesties for easy access.

JRB storing nesties

I went to Staples and got myself some magnetic tape.  I put it into my DVD tin - yet another use - and laid them on top.  They stuck down perfectly!  I put all the scallops in one case, and the plain rectangles in another.  Now, I will not save that I am the first one to store them this way.  I have seen many different ideas on storage for them, but this is what I figured worked best for me.

Now it is off to the Post Office with the rest of the class kits.  I will be back to let you know how you can sign up for the next one...

GinaK Stamp Storage

I saw Emily's post HERE, and realized that I didn't need to keep it in the bag...LOL.  You think with all the DVD tins I have floating around, I would have thought of it sooner.

JRB storage tut1

So, here I have a DVD tin and two of the sets that were released last month.  They are nicely cut out, but still in the bag.  As you can see, the DVD tin has a black side.  That is actually a removable insert, which you put your DVD into, so I take it out

JRB storage tut2  Now, I add a layer of Grip-Tac, a self-adhesive plastic used to cover books.  I put it in each side for my EZmount to stick to.  The stamps don't seem to want to stick to the tin itself.  I buy my rolls at the $1 store for, you guessed it, a buck.

JRB storage tut3

Now,I put in the stamps, one set per side.  Yes, they all fit in there pretty easily.  Yes, you can shut it with stamps on each side, no problem.

JRB storage tut5  Then, I cut the paper inserts to make it fit onto the front and glued them on...WITH TOMBOW MONO MULTI !!  I get mine from All That Scraps, but is also available through Stampin' Up!  I put one paper on each side of the tin, so that I know exactly what is in each one.  Come back later for a card I made, after I sorted these all out.

Solve a problem a little at a time

Card_box_1 I ordered this Forget-Me-Not Keeper box from Stampin' Up! awhile ago, to hold my cards in.  I love the fact that it comes with plastic separator thingys (I'm blond and can't think of the word right now), so you can label which cards are what.  It would also be great for your photos, so you can separate them according to date, or occasion, etc.

I do have a slight problem, though.  It came with 12 thingys, and in this one, I have only used 3 - THREE!  This box is now full, and so I either have to buy more boxes or sell some cards.  How many more boxes do you think I would need??

Card_box_2

LOL - I know I will be buying more of these even if I sell the cards!  Why?  Cause it is so nice to look in the box and have it organized, as opposed to going through 200+ cards, to try to find one to fit the occasion.  See, the ones on the shelf are in absolutely NO ORDER, and the ones in the box now are!!  I am even going to organize them further, as in masculine birthday, feminine birthday, friendship, thinking of you, no sentiment yet, etc.  This way, I can flip and find when I am in a hurry!  Stay tuned, I'll be back with a card later!

Unmounted Storage

Since I made my post about the hot knife to cut out my unmounted stamps, I have been getting emails about how I store them.  Well, I received my storage containers today - FROM STAMPIN' UP!

Yep, the only thing I could think of was those stamp containers that they sell, and I figured that since they are plastic, the EZmount would stick to them.  It worked perfectly.

Jrb_unmounted_storage1 Jrb_unmounted_storage2

The only thing left to do now, is to stamp an index for each box.  As you can see, there are 16 stamps in here and room for more.  The box may be an inch tall, but it works for me!!  If I find something better, I'll let you know!
