The picture for the inspiration challenge today is a Starbucks coffee card. Though my submission looks NOTHING like the card, I was inspired another way. I seen a punched creation in the gallery by tallymom, and though she never made a card, she helped to inspire this card!
I made a card to hold the gift card! OK, I love the Like it a Latte set, but unfortunately, I do not own it...and I thought I wouldn't use it *rolleyes*...so when I saw this punched coffee (or tea) cup, I was like "WOOOHOOO".
I used close to cocoa, very vanilla, and chocolate chip CS, and the same inks minus the vanilla. This card is 4.25 X 4.25 square.
I ran the vanilla through the Cuttlebug with the D'vine Swirls embossing folder and drug the cocoa inkpad across it. I didn't have a coffe stamp, so the sentiment is printed on the computer (FontSU : Passing Notes). I punched it out with the 1 1/4 circle, and punched the vanilla with the 1 3/8, sponging it with the cocoa. I cut my slider tag with a die on my Cuttlebug, glued on the vanilla, but the sentiment is popped up.
I punched the cup with my large tag punch and the saucer with the large oval. The handle I made by punching the edge of the cocoa piece with the small oval and then centering the large oval over it to get the width I wanted. I stamped the swirls from Delight in Life for coffee steam, and the flower from Noteworthy on the cup in chocolate chip. I sponged the cup, saucer, and the vanilla with cocoa and matted it on chocolate chip. I glued the oval on the panel and then popped up the cup, this panel is not popped up.
I then put the slider on 2 ribbons, criss-crossing them and attaching this to the embossed layer. So, as you can see, this looks nothing like the link above, but it certainly was inspired. What are you going to punch today?? Have fun and happy stamping!!
Absolute Genius, Julie - how clever are you? TFS.

What a great card and clever use of punches. I can see myself giving this idea a go sometime soon. Knowing me, mine will turn out totally different from your card but sometimes all you need is inspiration which you have so kindly given. TFS

Hi Julie,
I love this card that you made. I really like the chocolate and vanilla colours together. I especially like the neat little ribbon tag that you made. What a great idea...I'm gonna have to CASE this idea! lol :)
Enjoying a beautiful sunny day here in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, hope you're having nice weather, too! :)
