The challenge today, chipboard. That is one thing that I find hard to put on a card. You will not see to many of my cards with that form of embellishment. Scrapbooks, book covers, etc. sure thing, but not too often on a card, since I find the area to small to work with. But since this is a *challenge*, I decided to face it. I kinda like the card, hope you do too! All products are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated.
I chose the square/circle chipboard piece, since I like the layout it gives. I covered it with the amythest Palette O' Prints paper, and then sanded all the edges, so the white core would show through. I faux stitched the edge with the black marker, and then matted it on vintage violet, then another POP layer and then the card base of violet. This card measures 4.5 x 5.5 inches.
I stamped the flower from Polka Dots and Paisley (Spring Mini). I inked up the flower only (solid) with my amythest marker, and then did the outline with the violet. I masked the 2 words of the sentiment and stamped them as well. I did not have a punch small enough, and the Coluzzle circle was either to small or big. I happened to notice that my roll of tape had a circle about the size I wanted, so I traced the circle around my stamped images, and then cut them out. I mounted them with dimensionals in the center of the chipboard cutouts. I used a Making Memories gem brads for the "o" on the sentiment.
I put my organdy across the bottom and then used 2 scraps of my violet stitched grosgrain. I used a bigger gem brad to hold it in place like a knot.
This card answers another 2 questions from all those posted. My FAVORITE colors to use are the purples - any shade, anytime!! My FAVORITE embellishment to use are brads and ribbon,I like the way they dress up a card. Have fun and happy stamping!!

Did you punch out the circles in the chipboard or did it come that way? If you did punch them out, how???
I LOVE this idea. Beautiful card.
