This is the card I made for my dad using the technique challenge from SCS to do the deer panel. All products are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise specified.
I scored my paper all the way across in both directions. using the INDENTED SIDE, I stamped my Noble Deer on vanilla in stazon brown. You need to stamp on the side the is not raised, so you get the lined look. I then sponged the edges with close to cocoa. I matted this on mellow moss and not quite navy.
I sponged the edge of my creamy caramel base with close to cocoa and then used my new Cutter Bee Bugs tool, to do the faux stitching on the bottom. I used my Karen Foster snap stamps(discontinued) to do the sentiment in chocolate chip and then put the brads under it.
I used my aged copper hodge podge buckle and threaded on the twill tape. I first rubbed my twill on my chocolate pad, to make it darker.
I think I should have used a more solid stamp, to truly achieve the look, but I like this card too. May have to try another this afternoon. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Wow! What a great technique! I haven't seen it done this way before. I love, love, LOVE it!! I hope I don't forget to try this. Oh, there are so many things I want to do!
