Well, she may be a millionaire - we will find out by watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on Oct. 23 and 24! TruCarMa was picked to be the Featured Stamper this week, and I HAD to do something, since I think she is a sweetheart! Here is the card I chose to CASE, and this is what I put together.
OK - the first big change you can see, is that it is not a card. I found the COOLEST day planner at WalMart yesterday and had to have it!! *I did a happy dance right there in the aisle* The front has a pocket with an insert that had a mat to put a picture in, but that hit the circuler file (after I got the measurements...hehehe). I knew I could use that pocket to show off my stamping skills at shows, when I book a workshop. Who would NOT want to book a show, just to have their name in this baby ?!? All products are Stampin' Up!, unless noted otherwise.
My colors are lovely lilac, chococlate chip, and the retired spring flowers DP. I also used watercolor paper so I could use my No Copics, No Problem tutorial.
I stamped the girl from Summer by the Sea in Jet black stazon, colored her in, and sponged in a sky. I then matted it on chocolate and lilac, using the mat pack to pierce around this layer.
I scalloped the edge of my DP with the large corner rounder (retired), matting this on lilac and chocolate. I punched 1/4 circles out of lilac, and attached them in the scallops with antique copper brads (Making Memories). She did not have the ribbon, but I added chocolate taffetta, since I left out 2 of the layers she had.
I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to add the letters on the bottom from Short Order Alpha and Numbers. I realized after, that I had wanted to use the All in a Row stitches on the edge, but it was too late, since I had the ribbon on. The awese thing, is that I can totally re-use this book, since the planner inside is an insert also, that can be replaced everyyear. I can also change this up for the seasons - YAY. I will have to make a new one for January, and save this one for spring, I'm-a thinkin'. Have fun and happy stamping, and don't forget to watch Carole in October to see if she becomes a Millionaire!
This is gorgeous. I love Walmart. Might just have to look for one of these!
