When Beth announced that the challenge this morning would be cracked glass, I was excited. I {heart} this technique, and nearly always do vintage cards, it just looks right. So here is my card for the challenge today.
For my CS, I used white, sahara sand, always artichoke, and chocolate chip. I stamped the image from Sleigh Bells Ring on white with brown stazon, the used my aqua painter and various inks to color it in. I then sponged the edges, first with creamy caramel, and then with close to cocoa. I used this tutorial on SCS to do the cracked glass technique, but then I rubbed cocoa re-inker into the cracks to define them a bit more. Finally, I matted it on sponged artichoke, and then chocolate.
I took my artichoke base, and sponged all around to soften the edges, and then added a strip of chocolate on the bottom piercing it with my MAT PACK<--------CLICK (this is what I used to line up brads, and eyelets, pierce, faux stitch, etc.). I stamped the sanded BG with artichoke on sahara, sponging the edges, as well. I matted it over the chocolate strip, and added the chocolate taffeta on the seam, using a knot to tie it. I added my image panel with dimensionals, and then used the mat pack again to place the copper brads (making memories) on the right side. I used it again, to add the piercing around the top of the image, just to tie it all together. Thanks for stopping by today, have fun and happy stamping!!
I love this technique and I REALLY love your card! What a great image for this. Love the colors and layout and all the different design elements. It's just beautiful, Julie!
