I loved this idea for a card, but decided to make it look a little more like a real ornament. I have a tutorial here (VIDEO), and I followed it EXCEPT I put the fold on top, and added the round tab punch. I only added the punch and brads to the front, so it would still open. And then the eyelet through the top, so it could hang on the tree, and stay closed. This is just another idea for the card, I taught this at my last class, and they really liked it.
On to another subject entirely. Aren't these lovely flowers ?!? My hubby and kids brought them into the hospital for me, and I had them on a ledge by my bed. They smell soooooo pretty, and I just love the colors (I'm not really a rose only person, I love the mixed bouquets).
Also, SO MANY THANKS to all of you who emailed and posted for my well wishes. I read all 129 of them, and got all teary-eyed (maybe it's the drugs...hehehe). No really, I so appreciate all the prayers.
I came home and had to have a 2 hour nap...LOL. My boys are with Grandma, so I could have the first day at home without having to worry about them - they are a tad busy...understatement of the YEAR, but I love them!!
Well, it is time for me to retire to the couch for a bit. Thanks for poppin' in to check on this hurtin' unit - have fun and happy stamping!!
I had not checked blogs this weekend. i did not know you were in the hospital. Sounds like you have great help and surgery was successful. Hugs, chris

Please get some rest, this is major surgery as you know!
I do hope your troubles are over! If you rest these first few dayz home you will heal so much quicker and lessen your pain in the long run. I promise!
Take care.
Great of the Grandparents to take the boyz. :}

Oh, dear, Julie! That's a good thing to be done with, isn't it (the hyesterectomy)! I'm glad you're home and on the mend. Thanks for taking the time to share a little something with us. I love the tab punch on the top--so perfect for this. Super cute and clever with the top fold. Now, please, don't overdo it! Take care of yourself. I know that's a difficult concept for a young mom...it's hard to stay down, isn't it?

Great news that your surgery went so well, and greater news that you feel like stamping already. Just rember to go at your own pace and rest often. Using the tab punch to top off the ornament is pure genius, I tell you! It's a perfect fit. And, your flowers are very lovely. TFS.

Great to know that you are doing well! The flowers are pretty. I like mixed bouquets too; seeing a variety of colors are nice and cheerful!
Thanks for sharing this ornament. I just told my son we were going to make some paper ornaments tomorrow and then I check my email and saw your message. I thought now isn't that funny...she posted info on an ornament. Well we will give this a try. He's 17 so hopefully I can get him to make at least three. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to bump that to 5, so we can spend more time bonding, lol!! Take care and hope to hear from you soon!
