CC Designs is releasing 2 new sets for Christmas on November 7, and I have a sneak peek of one of them for you right here!! They are so adorable, and I know I am going to {heart} playing with them!! For you animal lovers, one set is with a puppy and one with a kitty. Awwww, I KNOW!! Now you're saying, stop typing and post the picture...OK, come 'ere Lucky, come on boy
Told ya he is cute!! This set is called Lucky's Christmas Wish and it comes in a set of 6. I used 4 of the stamps to make this card. First I stamped Lucky with black ink on white. I masked him off and stamped the tree. I then masked them both off, to stamp the oval for the carpet with brocade blue, and doodled around the edge with my not quit navy marker. I got the inspiration for the color from the Daisy D's Colonial Dot paper. I wanted to replicate the dots on the tree. The tree actually is just with the asterisks on it, but I made them "ornaments", by stamping over them with a pencil eraser. Then I watercolored around them to color the tree.
I punched 2 of the corners with the corner rounder punch, and sponged the edges in old olive ink. I then punched the brocade CS and matted them together. For the base of the card, I punched the aforementioned DP with the large oval, and I matted it on brocade. I then used my mat pack and night of navy marker to do the faux stitching. I wrapped the May Arts Checker ribbon around it, and tied it on. This ribbon is so nice, it has a satin-y (if that's even a word...LOL) feel to it.
I then decided I need to dress up my image a bit more. I added Tulip Puffy Paint (or Liquid Applique from All That Scraps) to the brim and ball of his hat, heating it up for the puffy effect. I then used my Sakura Stardust pen to the red bow on the gift, the asterisks on the tree, and around the large oval punch out. The gifts were stamped, colored with markers and cut out. I added them to the front with dimensionals. Then the image panel was added to the card with dimensionals, as well.
The sentiment is just one of the words of the phrase inked, stamped and punched with the small oval punch. I tried to do more words, but they wouldn't fit on the small area. I then sponged that with olive, too, before adding it to the card with dimensionals.
My stamp/scrap retreat is this weekend, and I'm not sure if there is going to be internet there. I will be making a ton of stuff to show you though, so keep checking, since I may surprise you (and myself). Have a great weekend, y'all, and take the chance to browse through my archives. Have fun and happy stamping!!
