We will be moving for the final time (if I have anything to say about it)!! The finishing touches on the house always seem to take the longest. All that is left to do is the closets, base boards, 1 more coat of paint, and the flooring - that will take us to MARCH. Here are some pictures.
Kitchen - YAY, the second favorite room in my house. The first is my craft room, but it is pretty blah right now. Here, I have natural maple cabinets with cinnamon accents. All we are waiting for now is my granite counter tops. We are really lucky to have such an awesome kitchen, hubby's best friend owns the shop, so he went all out!
This is the fireplace wall in the family room. The same guy that did our cabinets made the wall unit and the mantel, so that it would all coordinate. This room is just off the dining room, so we wanted a nice flow in this area. That fireplace is real, and is ducted into our furnace, so we will be heating our home with that. You can see we will need it since I took this picture the other day...AHHHH! The boxes piled up on the floor is our hardwood. Almost the whole top floor (exception of our bedroom carpet) will be hardwood and tile. It really keeps the dust down, and it is easier and faster to Swiffer than vacuum...LOL.
So, this is what you will see when you walk in the front door. It is a little dirty in the pictures, but today, I washed them and covered each step with cardboard to save them from the onslaught of paint that is yet to come. The little boxes will be lights in the stairs, so that I (Yes, me) hopefully won't fall down in the middle of the night...LOL.
Well, hope you enjoyed the little tour. I will show you more when we move in, and there is actually something to see. It was funny to see some of the trades bring their wives there, could tell some of them were going to be renovating in the near future...hehehe. So anytime you are in my area after March - POP in! I'd love to break in my craft room with of my blog land friends.
The house looks nice! Coming along nicely!! We're building a home too and my hubby says that it's the final time too!!

WOW I love the new house..... The stairs are gorgeous!!! I want stairs like that. Are those lights in the stairs? I have lights built into the wall a side the stairs into the basement and they are turned on automaticlly when it gets dark outside. I have LOVED it. So nice for the kids if they get scared in the night and need to run up two flights of stairs.. Your kitchen is beautiful. Can't wait to see the craft room. No presure after such beautiful room you have pre-viewed so far.
How lucky are you to get requests for orders by your blog... Cool. Maybe someday..
Best Wishes,

Absolutely gorgeous and very worth the wait!! I would ask dh for a chef to go with that kitchen so you can sit back and watch it all from the family room in front of the lovely fireplace!! ;-) Congrats - it is beautiful! Can't wait to also see your craft space!! Oh, one question...what is the size of your kitchen? We are planning a re-do and I think yours LOOKS similar in size, but pics can be decieving when it comes to size!

Julie,
Your new house is beautiful! Three years ago we were living in a tiny rental cottage waiting for our house to be finished. We moved in Mar.18th. I know what you are going through. It is worth the wait. Again, your house is gorgeous!

Although I know it does not seem like it now, the time will fly by.

Looks beautiful! I well remember the anticipation of waiting to move into our brand new home a year ago! It was overwhelming! Enjoy, take lots of photos and savor every moment! :)

Wow...everything is just beautiful. Brings me to tears, because of our economy we are having to sell the house I picked and designed everything for in March. I am soooo sad to say goodbye to our home and to have to move to something smaller. My illness along with my husband having needed surgery twice in the past couple of years, has just been too much to rebound from.
Enjoy your new home! I hope you are able to stay in it forever!

Wow, it's gorgeous!! Reminds me a little of our new house (except much darker cabinets). Hey, if you don't mind me asking, what color is on your kitchen walls?? I'm still trying to figure out colors for certain rooms. TFS!!
