Do you ever have a day where you cannot get your card right? The thing that sucks for me, is that I still have to post something - AHHHHH!! But, here's to hoping you understand that even I have a bad day.
I really liked the idea in my head, but no matter how many times I switched layers, and colors around, it just didn't finish right.
I used my JCC09 for the colors (go HERE to play along) : always artichoke, river rock, and ruby red. The base is artichoke with some retired SU paper (Baroque). Everything else is layered on, the one layer has ruby CS, then river rock ribbon, and artichoke grosgrain. The other layer has 5 ruby brads, and is attached with dimensionals.
I stamped the bride from She's All That in ruby on river rock, matted on artichoke and added to the card.
I punched the artichoke with the label designer punch, the ruby with the 1" circle and matted them together. I stamped the sentiment on with artichoke on river rock, and added it with the ruby brads. This was put onto the card with dimensionals, as well. The finished size of this card is 5 X 5. Don't forget to post your card by Wednesday, to be in for the draw to get my previous card. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Julie...don't feel bad. We won't hold it against you. (hee hee)
My mom would say,"Try try again"! And we know you will. :-)

A note, just because it is interesting to know how someone would change this card if you asked them to. I personally, would eliminate the top right horizontal rectangular piece of CS allowing more of the pattern to show. (As the card is now, it appears to me that there are too many "BOXES" on it.)
If you wish to try stamping the bride on dark CS, as others have suggested, I would use White Craft Ink (SU) .....
No big deal - your work is grand!!

Julie, I wish my bad stamping days looked like this! I actually like the color combo, it's kinda retro! Anywhooo, I really like this one.

Not that anyone asked, but I will give my 2 cents worth. I haven't been stamping for even a year yet so believe me my opinion is worth about 2 cents!...ANYWHO I think it's the colors...they look like military colors to me. Depending on who you marry I guess it could work!LOL Other wise the card is great! Stamping, Layout etc....Just do it in beautiful soft colors. Your such a pro you can even pull off a military wedding card! Go Army LOL!

It's very pretty, but I agree with you that there's just 'something' trying to tell ya what needs to be done. I have faith in you, you'll figure it out!!!!

So - will you tell us why you don't like this? Perhaps we will learn from that... because we seem to think it's terrific!

I really like this card. If you gals don't stop using this stamp set I'm going to be forced to buy it. I didn't want it until I've seen some really good (great) cards with it. Your matting is tre-men-dous!

Julie, it's odd but whenever I feel that a card has gone south, that is the card that everyone likes and that page on my blog gets tons of hits. Kinda like the one dress you hate and feel subconcious in, is the one where everyone comes up to you and says you look fantastic and have you been losing weight? Go figure. Anyways, I absolutely love this card - I'm not sure what you didn't like about it - it's beautiful.

In the words of artist Bob Ross, "In art there are no mistakes, only happy accidents"
Maybe you don't like it, but I bet others will, me for one.

We are our worst critics. Lucky for you, this frustration happens only occasionally - I get it on a very regular basis - LOL!! Glad to see you are human ;-)

I wish my "bad" cards were like this! I think it looks great Julie! (although I must admit that I am not too crazy about that whole stamp set... She kinda creeps me out!) But you make it look gorgeous!

Personally, I think it's beautiful....

Sometimes those bold stamps don't seem finished to me when they don't stamp completely with a solid layer of color. Could that be what's bothering you? Or maybe some subtle versamark image on the brad and ribbon layers? It's a bit less full than your usual -- but beautiful nonetheless!

and where did you go wrong, exactly? i love this, seriously
