First off : Thanks for all your comments yesterday, and some of you wanted to know what I thought was wrong. I think the front panel should have been DP, as well, but I wasn't sure how it would look to stamp the bride on top of there. I wanted the two panels underneath to be plain, so that the embellishments would be showcased on those layers. I may have to just stamp the bride on the DP, and see how it turns out!
Secondly : A new card for today. The good thing about doing something that doesn't really impress you, is to try again tomorrow ... or an hour later depending on how much free time you have ... hehehe! I decided to try with my new CC Designs set, Hey Chicky.
My base started with this lovely Bazzill orange peel textured CS. I think it is Splash, and you can get it at All That Scraps. I then used some new S.E.I paper, Chick-A-Doo on top of that, and I pulled my color combo from this paper. My other CS is Bazzill Reed, and canvas textured CS. I scalloped this layer with my Stampin' Up! corner rounder punch, matted it under the splash, and then added some white grosgrain.
I stamped my chick with basic black on ATS's new 140lb white CS. I stamped her again on the patterned paper, and cut out the umbrella. I colored her in white my pastels, to give her a softer look, and then masked her off. I drew a ground line, and then sponged certainly celery for the ground. I sponged over top of a scallop circle with bordering blue, to get the stormy look in the sky.
I colored her boots in with the tempting turquoise marker and then covered them with stardust stickles. This was matted onto the splash and reed CS, and added to the card with dimensionals. I added some Prima Got Flowers? in Lemon Lime and a button from the S.E.I line. I cheated with the button and used a strip of the reed CS cut with my Stampin' Up! Tabletop Cutter, {this thing cuts paper as fine as HAIR!!}, and added it to the flower with sticky strip. The other two flowers have adhesive jewels from Michaels. Finally, I stamped the sentiment on the bottom in black. Well, I have to jet, I have a workshop tonight for 14 people and I have to start cutting paper. Have fun and happy stamping!!
What a super fun card! Simply love it!
