Since I was making so many roses, whilst trying to make the instructional video, I decided to make another card. This one was for my parent in-laws, for their 50+ anniversary. I don't know the exact number of years, but I am guessing around 54. My MIL is very victorian in her style so I thought I'd make a vintage card for her. Also part of my JSF03 sketch in a way, but with less layers.
I used barely banana, always artichoke and very vanilla CS. The base is full color (rare for me - I make card fronts, and glue them onto a white base), but I needed it for the way I was making the card. I saw a card like this in a Paper Crafts book, and wanted to recreate it with an aged feel.
I folded my 8.5 X 5.5 CS at 4.25, but then tore of a bit of the front right side. I folded it over like the rose petals and then inked it up with so saffron. I made my rose (Video Tutorial) and added the organdy ribbon and the pretties half pearl. This was put onto the vanilla (2.25 square) and then onto the artichoke (2.5 square). I stamped the sentiment from Holidays and Wishes in artichoke on the bottom, and I was done. She LOVED it, but I knew she would *wink*.
Have fun and happy stamping!!
Thanks for the video--I had no idea how easy it would be to make this card and can't wait to try it!

FAB card Julie. Just love those roses. I am not happy as I can not play the video tutorials as I have VERY slow dial-up for my computer and it will not play them. Dang it. Would love to know how to make those roses. When a card passes with flying colors with an in-law then you are indeed a great artist!!!! Congrats Julie. Love the simplistic aura of the card but the over all effect is brillant. Thanks for sharing with us so much of what you do and tons about your family. Love it!!!!!!! evette
