I have been working on the Brayered Sky technique over at SCS. I really like the way it adds to a card, and so I used it for this one today. I also used some more PolyShrink from ATS, and I have a comparison picture for you too, so you can see the change.
The colors for JCC19 are :
- pretty in pink
- perfect plum
- elegant eggplant
Did it not turn out AMAZING ?!? I am so in love with this card, it is going to be so hard to give it to one of you!!
So, first, I cut a piece of SU's whisper white CS to be 4 X 4. This is important, not the size but the paper. I tried all types of white CS today, and that one worked the best. Because of its' ultra smooth finish, the ink blended better than with any other.
I stamped the images in black from Garden Silhouettes (SU - retired), and then brayered on the colors in the order listed above. I matted the image on white, then plum. I tied on the satin ribbons, and then used dimensionals to attach it to the eggplant base. This was sponged with the same ink before, just to bring more depth to the card.
Now for the tag! I stamped this frame from SU's Frames with a Flourish, and the sentiment from Fresh Cuts. This is how small the image is after I shrink it with my heat gun. Is that not AWESOME! I strung some silver cord through the hole and tied it around the knot of the ribbon. The finished card is 5 X 5.
I hope you can play along! Just use the colors above (or a close substitute), upload your card, and link it back here. If you upload to SCS, use the keyword JCC19, so we can all see the beautiful things you create.

Okay... so my card is *not* elegant like yours. But, it's cute. I really liked the color combo. Very girly and very fun!

Cute thanks for sharing !! Only wish that Stampin'Up still carried the polyshrink. Then we wouldn't have to leave the house.

Tell me who sells that shrinking stuff. That is really cool! I'm going to try attempting this card but I'm not sure what it's going to look like. I guess it will be my own concoction #1
p.s. Yours is really beautiful.

Awesome card Julie!!! We used this technique in our stamping club and in a technique class I went to with my upline. It is so awesome. Too bad I can not put mine online as I do not have a scanner or printer at present time...darn it. Would love to send that card to my best friend who just lost her dog at only age 3. She would love that card. Might just have to get my brayer out and try and do one myself. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. evette

Wow! This card is stunning! I have often thought of using poly shrink, but the thought of having to mess with an oven did not appeal to me. I never thought to use my heating gun!
I would definitely love to see you do a tutorial video on this technique. I might be enabled to purchase some poly shrink in the near future. I also like the way it give more options for using this stamp set!

Yes Julie once again beautiful work. You should do a video on making a brooch so we can really see from start to finish ,how yu do it and how it shrinks. I would be interested in working with this polyshrink stuff. Eileen

Gorgeous colour combo, and a STUNNING card! Love it! I just tried the brayer sky yesterday- what a disaster! Perhaps it was my paper, I will try the whisper white...

Oh, yeah! This is GOJUS!
I love the little tag, too... can SOMEONE tell me why that great Frames with a Flourish set is SOOO dang expensive?! I would LOVE to own it, but it is prohibitive!
And, while we are on that tangent...
I wish we could start a campaign to start calling SU and to get them to have unmounted stamps ala Gina K., Lizzie Anne, Our Daily Bread, etc. Then maybe we could afford them more easily and story them better! When I see a set like this, it is just so hard to resist, but I have to!
