I spent a bit of time on the road this weekend. Our family (my side) went to Calgary to visit my sister, and to celebrate Thanksgiving. That is a 6 hour drive one way - with 2 boys asking the whole time "Are we there yet?", it felt longer. Thank goodness I brought my laptop along for them to watch movies on!
On the way there we saw something so atrocious, so awful, so disturbing. Here, I'll show you...
We drove through this for about 20 mins. The kids were impressed, but I was not. I mean, I know it is coming, but give me a chance to get Thanksgiving over with first!! This was taken right after it started, but it did start to accumulate on the road and ditches. I am sure it was gone by morning, though!!
Then, we decided to take the boys through Drumheller. They were so excited to see the dinosaurs everywhere, and I snapped another shot for you. I circled a car in the photo, so you could see how big this thing really is. You can click on the picture for a larger view.
Drumheller has the richest deposits of fossils and dinosaur bones in North America! The Royal Tyrrell Museum is a must see. We did not stop this time, but I have been there before and it is amazing. We will definitely go back when we have more time.
To all my Canadian friends, I hope you have/had a wonderful time with family and friends. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Julie, belatedly, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! No matter if you're Canadian or US, I think the basic sentiments for the holiday are the same, thanks for family and the blessings we receive! God bless you and your family and hopefully you had a wonderful family gathering!

WOW~ snow?!?! it is 78 degrees here today. Beautiful and sunny. It is Columbus day here.
Yeah..I was thinking the same thing: do you have turkey and such?!?! I am curious too!
Luckily, we don't have snow here in Texas-where I am at, anyway. And that is fine with me. I have been in huge snow storms-and it was awful!
Hope you won't have too much snow.

My DH is so in love with this place -- he remembers it from a trip when he was 5 years old, and he is 42 on Wed.!
He wants so much to take our kids to Drumheller -- it is one of those big dreams of his. So excited to show him your blog!

Happy Thanksgiving Julie! So do Canadians, do turkey and all the works like we do here in the US in November? I can't believe it has started snowing. We had spurts of it here in Utah over the weekend and this morning, YUCK! I am not ready for that stuff yet!

Your so brave to travel in daylight with children! LOL Just kidding...of course. However we did always try to leave a few hours before daybreak, or a few before there bedtime so we would have a bit of a break from "Are we there Yet?"
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Love your blog.

Please tell me you did not bring the "S" with you back to S'toon. lol
I know it is coming, bought the kids winter coats and boots today.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. Please don't use the "S" word, it makes me twitch. Just knowing it's coming sooner rather than later puts a bit of a damper on autumn. *sighs*
