I very close friend of mine is going through a hard time, and I decided to make a card for her.
I used my tutorial, HERE, to make the sunrise card, but I used whisper white CS. I have had a few questions about whether it would work as well, so I tried it. The answer - an emphatic "NO". You can totally see a line where my tangerine tango met the apricot appeal, and I could not blend it any further.
I stamped on the Upsy Daisy flowers in chocolate chip, and sponged the edges in the same ink. I then covered them in Crystal Ice Stickles from All That Scraps. It does not look good on this picture, but it is lovely IRL.
I added the sentiment on the designer label and 1 3/8 punches.
The base was tango sponged with chocolate ink. The apricot was stamped with the sanded BG in the coordinating ink, and then sponged with chocolate, as well. I added the 1" stitched chocolate ribbon around, and matted it all. Then I added the image panel with dimensionals. It has a lovely fall feel, and is the JCC24 for this Sunday.
- Tangerine Tango
- Apricot Appeal
- Chocolate Chip
There is no deadline, so feel free to play along. When you upload to SCS use the keyword JCC24, so we can all see what you have made. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Another possibility (besides the tutorial above) is to take a sponge and sponge along the edge w/ the darker color. It softens the look some.

Beautiful card, Julie!
To get a smoother look when brayering on Whisper White CS, try my tutorial here:
http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.com/stamps_paper_scissors/2008/09/gradient-glow-t.html
To do two colors, you would simply do one color on the top, turn the cardstock, clean the brayer and the acetate and do the second color. OR you could load two colors on your brayer, and then use the acetate to blend them together.
But I also like the more rough and rustic look of a rubber brayer on Whisper White...it's very pretty here!
