I decided to play along with the sketch challenge over at SplitCoast, since I was up ... hehehe. I used an un-inked set for this card, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out!
I made this for my grandmother ~ she's 91~ in the hospital with double lung pneumonia. I hope this cheers her up, since I myself would HATE to be in the hospital over Christmas!!
I stamped the solid butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly (Stampin' Up!) in cameo coral on white, and then added the polka dots over top in basic grey. I stamped the solid one again on vellum, and embossed it with Iridescent Ice powder. I cut it out, and attache it over the other one with glue in the center. I stamped the blades of grass from Inspired By Nature on scrap before adding them to the scene. Finally I stamped the sentiment trial and added the faux stitching around the edge. This was matted to basic grey CS.
The base is coral, great and white. The white was stamped with the paisley BG stamp (soon to be retired) in coral, and then I added the tabs with pearl brads from Bazzill. I think these may be retired, but you can check out All That Scraps to see the latest. I then faux stitched around these, too, to bring the look together. I adhered the image panel to this with dimensionals to finish it off.
I will write a get well message on the inside and deliver it today. Have fun and happy stamping!!
I GET SO EXCITED OVER THE NEW CATAOG AND HOPE THAT IT HAS MORE WORD STAMPS IN IT THIS TIME, AND MORE OF NATURE. OF COURSE, I'M PARTIAL TO BUTTERFLIES AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE OF THEM. I LOVED THIS SET!!!
SURE HOPE YOUR GRANDMOTHER GETS BETTER QUICKLY AND I KNOW SHE'LL ENJOY THIS.

I just heard that the new books were coming this Sunday. The hardest thing for me is to see the old items disappear for good. Although I don't really know what I would like to see in the new book, I do enjoy the designer paper. In concerns to stamp sets, I have to see the set in use before I can decide if the set is for me.

Love your card! I would love to see more 'nature' inspired stamp sets and I always love 'word' stamps. Can never have too many sentiments or butterfly stamps!! LOL
