There are TWO tutorials involved in this picture but you are only getting one today. I know this is what you are thinking, but good things come to those who wait. At least that is what my mom told me time, and time, and time, and . So here, you go.
Candy Cane Marshmallows
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 4-5 teaspoons water
- 6 candy canes
- 1 bag of jumbo marshmallows
- cookie sheet lined with wax paper
Put your powdered sugar in a cereal size bowl, and add the water 1 tsp at a time until it becomes a thin glaze. Depending on where you are, you may need more water to get it the right consistency. Put your candy canes in a blender until finely ground. Stick a toothpick into the end of each marshmallow - I used one whole bag (not the family size).
Roll your marshmallow in the glaze. Make sure to coat the bottom and at least halfway up the sides.
Now, roll the marshmallow in the ground candy cane, until all the glaze is covered.
Then put them on your cookie sheet. I also did some with melted chocolate and sprinkled candy on there, as well, but these were a bit more work. When you are all done, put them in freezer till they nicely pop off the wax paper. Put them into a bag and store in freezer. I did all the marshmallows in about 20 minutes from start to finish. Dylan even helped to put the "sticks" in each end.
Now, you can add your marshmallow and a little Christmas flavor to your hot chocolate. Give a few with some hot chocolate packages to your children's teachers for a quick , but great holiday gift. I'll show you how to gift it up later Make sure you sit down and enjoy the first cup. You need to make sure they taste good, have fun and happy creating!!

It's so funny that you posted this! I was just at Second Cup on the weekend and they were selling the chocolate covered marshmallows dipped in candy cane- I looked at them and the price and thought- I can make those! easy peasy! They used lollipop sticks, but toothpicks are nice and cheap :) Thanks!
