I am on a Thank-You Card Kick! I had a photographer contact me about making the thank you cards for her clients to purchase.
It needs to be simple, yet lovely, and have room for a picture inside. It also needs to be able to be mass produce in a hurry, I could have up to 100 at a time to make.
This beauty IS NOT one for that line up. I was bored of making simple cards yesterday, and this took me out of the rut.
The base is white, with a night of navy layer, and then vellum (paper weight) was embossed with my Textile Cuttlebug folder and attached with brads. I added the May Arts Metallic ribbon in Mauve (it looks gold) to bring some more accent color. I cut my white and navy layer panels, and stamped the flourishes(Frames With A flourish - Stampin' Up!) in the navy with white ink and embossed them with white.
I centered a long rectangle nestie and cut it out. I used repositional adhesive on the back of this layer and stuck it to the white where I wanted the sentiment to be. I stamped the sentiment with versamark, removed the navy layer, and embossed it in gold. Then I added the navy layer with dimensionals, and stuck the whole thing to the front of the card.
I'll save this for my own stash, hope you like it. Have fun and happy stamping!!
I showed this card to my friend but she has already bought thank you cards but she was amazed at how beautiful your creation was! I told her "yep, you have a very creative mind". Thanks again for all the hard work you to for our watching pleasure!!

I love this card - I love embossing - it gives it a more personalized look to your cards. What is a "long rectangular nestie" is this a template that I have to draw the rectangle on every card and cut it out? I would rather use a punch - but they probably don't make them to accomodate a card huh? Punch and get it done. Adios, glad

I love the embossing on the vellum. The card is elegant. I'm always looking for thank you card ideas as I send them to my hostesses when they have a jewelry party with me. Would love for you to share the simple ones!!!!!!

Beautiful card. I'd like to see the simple ones too. I always enjoy seeing simple ideas since I tend to forget that simple can be beautiful too. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration!

That's a neat idea to put vellum through your cuttlebug. I never would've thought of that. Very elegant card!

Wow, this is gorgeous!! So very elegant. I am going to show this to a friend who is getting married soon, if you don't mind. I think it would be a wonderful thank you card and she could incorporate her own colors into it.

Wow, what a beautiful card, Julie!!!
Congratulations on that big business deal. O.K. now, what is a simple card in the Julie Buhler vocabulary? All of your cards are always so absolutely stunning and don't look at all simple :D:D:D:D:
