One card down for Mother's Day! I like having the cards for my Moms to be spectacular, since they are such special people. I also used the sketch today at Splitcoast for the basic layout of the card. I think it is so pretty, and I know either one will LOVE it.
I sponged the edges with cocoa, and faux stitched with chocolate chip. I added the pink taffeta ribbon and the leaves and greenery were made with Martha Stewart and Punch Bunch punches. The sentiment was designed on my computer and printed off onto textured pirouette CS.
Here is how I made the flowers.
First, I cut out the flowers with my new Flower Layers Die from Stampin' Up!. I used 3 colors for depth in my flowers, regal rose, pretty in pink and pink pirouette.
Then, at each of the petal indents, I cut into the center, but not all the way through.
This way, when it comes time to shape them, they will fold up. I shape mine using a stylus and the mat pack sponge to curve them upwards. Now, all you have to do is add a brad to the center to keep the layers together!
It can be so easy to make a big statement with little effort. Have fun and happy stamping!!
This is beautiful and the colors are great! Ok, now I think I will have to get that MS punch, lol!
