Yesterday the TLC on Splitcoast was to make a little round top box. After I had one printed out, I thought of a really cool project. So, I printed another one.
And I used sticky strip to adhere them together for an Easter basket!!
First you need to download the template :
Print it on to two sheets of CS. I used certainly celery. Cut them out, score on dotted lines, and then assemble each one separately.
I then used my wide oval punch to make a handle in ONE of the completed boxes. Then using sticky strip, you adhere both boxes together, as shown. Now punch the handle in the other one, by lining it up over the one already punched.
Now it is time to embellish. I took a piece of 3 3/8 X 12 SAB Delicate Dots DP and that covered the inside handle on each side. Do only one side at a time, so you can cut out the oval and the rounded top edge. I cut a 2 X 12 piece for the bottom, scalloped the edge and adhered it to the box. You will need an extra piece for the back side, as it doesn't quite fit. I then tied the SAB celery poly-twill around the box, making the bow. I took another SAB set, Yummy, that goes so perfectly for any food related gifts. I inked it up with celery, used my shirt (couldn't find the Q-Tips) to remove some of the ink, and re-inked it with my black marker. I stamped it onto confetti white, and cut it out. I added an eyelet with my crop-a-dile, and some gold cord to tie it to the box. I then added some matching ribbons, and right after I took the pictures my kids came and snagged the peeps!
I think these would make great place cards for the kids table at your next Easter get together. Have them full of mini eggs for after the meal, and they would LOVE it. Have fun and happy stamping!!
What an adorable project! Thanks so much for sharing it!

I come to your blog alot and appreciate all of your ideas - You are SO clever! This is no exception.
I was a little shocked when I went over to a blog called Paper Expressions (gwensstampinfun.typepad.com) and she is selling this exact basket - a day after you posted it - as a kit for $7.00. Is she making money off your idea? I don't know but if it were me I would want to know.
Thanks for all your ideas.

You're my kind of gal!...used your shirt when a Q-tip wasn't handy...and then declared it a step in your instructions. I love to see variations in patterns and how-tos...cause I'd never think of it by myself. TFS

Wow, Julie, this is one cool idea. I saw it on SCS yesterday and was a little hesitant, but the way you've jazzed it up I like it a lot. If only my printer would let me use CS.
TFS your great ideas!
