Well, I wanted to post this yesterday, so that it would hurry me up, but it didn't work. I finished them around 12:30 am, but all Dylan's 25 Valentines are done, and Jayden's just need to be folded together and stapled. I need to find out how many kids there are first, but here is what I ended up with.
YAY, I simplified it even more, and I think it looks better! The original tutorial is HERE, and I followed it, but rephotographed the new changes for you. There is NO WAY I was going to be heat embossing for 50 Valentines!! I also changed the way I started them out, since I was mass producing and not making only one.
First, I scored all 10 pieces of 8.5 X 11 CS at 1, 4.5 and 5. You are scoring on the short side, as pictured. Then, on the one inch flap, you will punch your decorative edge. I used both the scallop and the eyelet punches.
Now, it is time to cut them out. With the punched edge closest to you, cut at 2 3/4 inches, all the way across. You will end up with 4 equal pieces. With the scalloped edge still closest to you, stamp your sentiment above the TOP score line.
Now, fold on the score line that you just stamped above, and put it into your punch - I used the heart to heart punch, but you could use the full heart, as well. Then fold on the other score lines, to make you packet, insert the goodies, and staple shut. Seriously, the longest amount of time was spent counting out the 500 candies (and eating some, of course). I have another great idea for this little package that I'm working on and will show you later. Have fun and happy stamping!!
I love your Valentine candy holders Julie. very handy to have some of these holders semi- prepared for other occasions. I did something similar a couple of years ago and filled them with chocolate raisins and I put tags on them decorated with a verse and reindeers and labelled them ' Reindeer Poop '

Thank you for the tutorial. I have been looking for instructions to make a container of some kind for the mini chocolate hearts I got for my 2 granddaughters. This looks easy peasy and I think I just might have a go at this.

This is a very cute candy holder. How do the young kids do with the staples? That has been on my mind when thinking of what to do for the grandkids. Thanks

Julie,
This is such a cute project, as usual!!! I still have time to make them for my kindergarten class. Since the measurement is 2 3/4", what kind of bag did you put the candy in? The SU! small cello bags are too wide.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was struggling for a valentine idea for my 3rd grader, and you did it!!! Thank you! I just finished them, and he will be thrilled to give them out to his class. I didn't punch the hearts, but just stamped, and they still look cute. Thank you!

Those are so cute! I'm a little sad because this is the first year NONE of my kids needs little Valentine's! My boys are in high school, and my daughter's 5th grade teachers decided they are NOT doing card exchanges this year. :(

Wonderful mass production idea! Cute, too. From the pictures it looks like you have punched through both front and back of the little candy holder in order to have the hearts right side up. Or, am I missing something? Was this difficult punching through both layers of cardstock? and did this create any problems for your punch making so many of these through double c/s?
