Bet you don't remember THIS project I made back in Dec. /07! Well, I had requests to make a tutorial on it, but never did. Then I saw a project that Tanja made, and it she made hers with the same technique I used to make the base. Since her tutorial is in German, I thought I'd make one in English for y'all.
You know those 12 X 12 chipboard pieces at the back of your Designer Paper Packs? KEEP THEM!! They are awesome when you need to make a project with a little more heft. I cut my oval with the Coluzzle on the third one in from the outer edge. I measured the oval across the longest part - 3 7/8. That will give you an idea, if you don't have this specific template.
You will need to press pretty hard, as this is a lot thicker than CS, but I didn't have a problem.
So, now you need to cut a piece of DP to be 4.5 X 12. Then you need to SCORE it at 4.
Take your paper snips, and cut little triangles out from the bottom to the score line. It does not have to be even or perfect. Then line the edge of the oval with sticky strip. Again, this does not have to be perfect. You can cut it in little strips, but f0r me, it is too time consuming and it makes my scissors all sticky -YUCK!!
Place a piece of sticky strip on the end of the DP, and fold over the triangles on the score line. Starting in the middle of the long side on th oval, start placing the triangles down onto the sticky strip. Make sure you start with the end of DP that DOES NOT have the sticky strip on it. Continue wrapping it around the oval, 'til you meet up with the other side.
Peel off the red line, and make sure to adhere it evenly along the other edge. If you don't, it just will have an uneven shaped top, not a nice oval. Now, out of the same piece of CS you used for the basket, cut 2 more ovals the same size as the base.
Glue one to the outside base of the basket. This will cover all the triangles on the bottom. Then cover the inside. This way it will all match, purely a cosmetic step, on the inside. If you don't have enough DP, it can stay white!
Now, with your round tab punch, you need to make the tabs with DP or CS, and glue one over the seem. The other one needs to go on directly across from it. Then using your crop-a-dile, attach 2 jumbo eyelets. This will hold the ribbon handles.
This thing is HUGE. I have 5 fill-able Easter eggs in it! I wrapped them with a band that I stamped using the Hunny Bunnies set from All That Scraps.
I added a strip of 12 X 1.5 regal rose CS that had been punched using the eyelet border. I added some more ribbon around it to finish it off, and made the cutest Easter Basket EVER!!
This was made for the ATSDTC41 to use lots of ribbon on your project. To play along for your chance to be a guest designer go HERE.

Aaaw that' sweet. I made a small round box back in October. Mine had a lid. You got me thinking about making my round box bigger (taller) and leaving the lid off. COOL!

I have coluzzle, I have paper trimmer, I have round tab punch. You just saved me a bundle ($50), I was going to buy a SU die that make a designer bag much like this one.
You are so talented to have come up with this one.
Thanks for sharing and keep on creating.

That is so cute! You are so good with that Coluzzle, I can't seem to get it right! I have a bunch of cutting shapes for it, but have put it away since I got my Cuttlebug, and my Big Kick! Anyway, love the project and will try! Michelle
