While at this moment I am enjoying the beautiful weather that the Caribbean has to offer, when I typed this post it was cold, VERY COLD.
You can click on it for the forecast that day, but with the windchill it was -36C or -33F. There is no playing outside on those days, much less even thinking about spring or butterflies.
It is so nice when you make a card to transport yourself to a warmer place - Ahhhhh!
Would you like to make one of your very own? Well, I found a template for you:
Print it off, and have some fun! I used almost amethyst for my base and wheeled on the Friendly Words for my background. I added a strip of scallop vanilla and sage shadow and tied on some Kraft taffeta ribbon.
I stamped the leaves from the God's Beauty hostess set on vanilla, and colored them with my handsome hunter and sage markers. I punched it out with the scallop square and sponged the edges with hunter.
The butterfly was stamped with brown Stazon onto watercolor paper, and colored with my almost amethyst and lovely lilac markers(Tutorial Here). To make the colors more intense, I painted over the butterfly with my Crystal Effects. This was added to the leaf image with dimensionals, and it all was attached to the box with more.
The tagwas made with Cuttlebug's Tiny Tags die, and the words stamped in chocolate from All Holidays. I bought a Aged Copper hodge podge kit when it retired, so I used one of the spiral clips to add my ribbon and tag to the top.
The gable box is a template from the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website. As a demonstrator, there are HUNDREDS available for you to print off for classes, workshops, or just for yourself. Just another reason to be come a demonstrator during Sale-A-Bration. Your starter kit this month is a total of 50% off, so don't hesitate. Signing up online means you can start immediately, and I will help you out anyway I possibly can. You can find out more information on this exciting opportunity HERE. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Hi Julie.. Thank you for this lovely project. I love how you made the hearts into a butterfly! I'm definitely going to have to do that with my set.

Julie,
This project is absolutely gorgeous. Amazing you can think spring at all with those temperatures freezing your you know what off. This box makes me think of warm balmy breezes, sweet honeysuckle and roses and lots of iced tea and lemonade.
Thanks for this wonderful preview of Spring - Jean
