I got the tutorial done for you for the project I created HERE.
All you need to get started is one sheet of 12 X 12 double sided Designer Series Paper. You can use CS, or regular patterned paper. When you use the double sided one though, the inside can match the band on the outside.
You need to cut your DP to be 8 X 10 1/4. Then cut a band of the same DP to measure 1 1/2 X 9.
First you need to put the DP with the 10 1/4 length along the top. Make sure you TAKE OUT the cutter...LOL, and don't ask how I know! Then you will need to score it at 2 1/2, 2 3/4, 7 1/2, and 7 3/4.
Then , you need to put the 8 length along the top and score it at 2, 2 1/4, 5 3/4, and 6.
Now, you need to cut the inner score lines. It is going to look like this :
Put in your seed packet. Then fold the taller sides in first, then fold the top and bottom flaps in. The reason for this, is that the band will then hide the seams, and it looks totally sealed - YAY!!
Now you need to score your band at 3, 3 5/16, 6 7/8, and 7 3/16. Fold all the score lines before wrapping it around the packet. Glue it where the ends come together. You can trim them shorter if you choose.
I scalloped my edge by folding it flat, and then punched through the two layers. Then I used THIS TUTORIAL to make the rose to add to the top. This covers the seam on the band. Instead of the pearl, I used a chocolate corduroy brad. I think it turned out pretty cool.
This would even great gift for those who have suffered a loss. They can take and plant the seeds in memory of the one they lost, and if you get the kind that reseed themselves, they will come back year after year. Hope you have fun creating!!
How can you top yourself all the time Julie...but u do!!! Great job. Again, thank you for the great ideas.

This is great. Just lost my favorit Uncle today an I'm going to make this for my Aunt. I also think i'm going to make a smaller size to stick in his pocket before we bury him, with words of love.

Thank you for the tutorial. As it is Mother's day in the UK next weekend these would make great little gifts for children to give to mums/grandma's. Inexpensive as well in these financially difficult times.
