This is the card that I spent many different moments creating. A few minutes here, there, and more again later. I finished it about 10 minutes ago, so I quickly started typing this up, since I promised to get it up.
The base is perfect plum that is sponged with close to cocoa. Then, I made my own patterned paper. I stamped the vanilla CS with the En Francois BG in perfect plum. Then I over stamped it with the Sanded BG in mellow moss. Then the edges were sponged with cocoa. I added the layer perfect plum on the left, that had also been sponged with cocoa. I used a strip of pale plum that was sponged and faux stitched with a cocoa marker. I tied on the moss taffeta and added it to the card.
The image (Thoughts and Prayers) inked up with always artichoke, pale plum, and perfect plum markers. It was stamped on vanilla andsponged with cocoa. It was matted on moss and cocoa CS that had also been sponged. This was then added to the card with dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped on pale plum with perfect plum ink, and punched with the large oval. I punched perfect plum with the scallop oval punch (NEW in the Occasions Mini), sponged both with cocoa, and added them to the image panel. I then used my mat pack for placement of the vintage brads. I really like this card, but sadly, it has to be used tomorrow. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Dear Julie,
Hello from Taree,NSW, Australia.
I have been viewing your site for a while now and had to tell you how fantastic your cards are. I just love to see the colours and ideas you put together and also love seeing your beautiful boys and all the photos of where you live.
No matter how I try I can't seem to get my sponging right around the outside of the image. If I swipe the edge of the card along the stamp pad it is usually too dark and very hit and miss. I want the lovely soft look you get on your edges. Is there a secret that I don't know about? Please help with your words of card wisdom as it's driving me mad.
Many thanks Julie and keep up your great site. It truly is my favourite.

Gorgeous card, Julie! I just love the color combination and the layout! I'm sorry to hear that the card will be used already -- sympathy cards are often the most beautiful and at the same time the saddest cards.
