Since I have my Mother's Day cards complete (Here and Here), I started on the cards for the men in my life. I need to make 3, and now I have one down!
I wanted to try a new layout for me, so instead of using one piece of DP, I cut it into 3 for the background. I used some Parisian Breeze, since striped paper is perfectly masculine. I also made sure to cut it so that the lines would match up , even though they were apart. I matted them on baja breeze and then sponged the edges with chocolate chip. I wanted the edge of the DP to have a little color too.
I stamped the image (Thoughts Of Father) on white with brown stazon. I then did a color wash with baja breeze ink. I sponged the edges in chocolate and matted it with the same CS - Don't you LOVE how everything matches with Stampin' Up! ?
I cut a strip of baja, faux stitched along each side, and then sponged it. I added the 3 aged copper brads to the one side, and then adhered it to the card. I bought a Aged Coppper Hodge Podge kit when it retired just to use on my masculine cards. The image was added on top with dimensionals.
For my sentiment, I used my chocolate marker to ink up only part of the sentiment. I stamped it on the white and used my slit punch to round the edges, and then sponged it. I punched the baja with the designer label punch, and the chocolate with the 1" circle. I added this to the card with dimensionals, and then the sentiment with more dimensionals. I don't make them enough, but masculine cards are enjoyable and challenging! Create some for the men in your life, have fun and happy stamping!!
Great card - I'm sure he'll love it!

When this set came out I had to get it Julie as my hubby is a mechanic part-time. He loved the first card I made for him using it. Love the Baja breeze so much. Just might have to case this card from you. Happy Mothers Day to you!!! Hope you have a great day and weekend. I am leaving for Ohio on Monday which I am very excited about as I will be going to Zoar, Ohio where a stamp sale is taking place and where there is a great stamp store!!!!!!! I am so excited to see my sis as well. Keep these great cards and ideas coming, us challenged card makers need them big time!!!
