Get Well Soon!

OK - just so you know ; that bug is in a jar.  I tied the ribbon around the top, and then realized that you couldn't tell anymore.  AHHH !  Oh well, still cute...hehehe, especially with all those stickles on his wings.

As you can tell, this is not a card, and since this was a get well set that Diane created, I wanted to make something different.

  It is a mini Kleenex holder!  How awesome is that, and there is a person I actually made this for.  I have a friend who gets sick a least once a month, we all just wait for it.  Next time, I am going to give her this.  She'll HAVE to get better then, won't she ?!?

A Big Accomplishment!

 

Well, last year it was Dylan's turn, but Jay didn't want to wait any longer.  This is what I have been working with.  He is still 4, so he is pretty proud that he did it "before Dylan"...LOL.  Now, I can't get him off the thing!  I have another big accomplishment to tell you about, but that can wait until later.

Beautiful Butterflies

 

I have no idea which room this is going in, but I'm leaning towards my guest room.  One thing I do know, though, is that this is absolutely STUNNING...hehehe.

The sentiment on the bottom is from a new set that AmyR designed, one that is lacking in the stamping world.  Thank You Sentiments has 23 stamps for different ways to say thanks.  I embossed it on the scalloped Kraft CS with black.

The butterflies were cut out with the Beautiful Butterflies Die from Stampin' Up! out of A Walk In The Park DSP.  The black striped DSP is from the Rockabilly DSP, and the darker stripes are actually embossed.  I added adhesive pearls to the bodies of the butterflies, and then baja ribbon.

Oh Baby Preview

 

On this card is 3 of the images in the set - baby carriage, rattle and pin.  I was inspired by this DP, a Brenda Walton pack from K&Co.  I stamped all the images and colored them with Copics.  I matted the main image on celery CS that was cut with a rectangle nestie after rounding the corners.  I added 3 Dew Drops and then punched a hole through the CS to tie the ribbon through.  I cut out the other images, punched holes through, and attached them with silver cord.

  I used another image for the inside, this time a sentiment (the "congratulations" is not part of it).  Since there was a small piece of the CS left, I added it to the inside along with the scallop celery CS.

Birthday Splash Roses

I actually made it before THIS CARD HERE.  These were my first try, and I don't think they turned out as good.  They are still lovely, though I think  like the littler petals of the other flowers.

The reinker I used was Bravo Burgundy, and I would not use it again.  When is spreads out, it has a tendency to turn green around the edges.

Otherwise, I used basically the same products as the above link, but added the ribbon instead of the half pearls.

Just Too Quiet

I was working with my laundry, and the house was awfully still.  With a 4 year old aroud, that is NEVER a good thing, unless you know they are sleeping...hehehe.  It wasn't as bad as I thought.

 

He was only coloring his finger ad toenails with PERMANENT BLACK MARKER.  Well, at least it wasn't on the walls.  So, what are your kids up to now??

Beautiful Prayers

I hope I'm not the only one in love with this card that I am about to show you.  I have seen so many cards floating around with a new watercolor technique.  Everyone else was using the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral, so of course, I had to pick a different image.

 

Yes, I know it is simple - but oh so GORGEOUS !!

I stamped the flowers on shimmery white CS with WHITE craft ink.  I then embossed them with CLEAR embossing powder.  I sprayed the CS with water and using my aqua painter, I add reinker (elegant eggplant) to the petals.  It spreads out on the water, some areas darker than others.  You can see a video tutorial HERE.  I let them dry while I went out for supper (YUM-MO LASAGNA), came home and cut them out.  I added the half pearls from the pretties kit to the centers and used the Big Shot to cut out my little leaves. 

The Top Note Die was used the the Kraft Textiles CS, and then I attached the flowers and the leaves.  The only flower adhered with dimensionals is the top one, the rest are glued.  The sentiment is from Thoughts and Prayers and was stamped in sahara sand.  I finally used dimensionals to attached the whole thing to the white card base.  I have no idea who I am giving this to, but I hope they loe it as much as I do.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

It's Started !!

 

I will now admit spring has started for us.  They don't even have a frost warning for us tonight - YAY!  I am going to go to the garden nursery on Monday, so I can get some bedding plants.  I will also be putting in some perennials, as well.  I also got some great advice on my spring cleaning - Do it in fall, it will last longer...BWAHAHAHA!  This way I can spend more time outside and enjoy the warm weather for awhile.  Get out of your craft room for a bit and enjoy the sunshine - have fun and happy tanning!!
