Awesome! Poor Dylan he looked like he would be hurting with the spot touching spot back! When I was a kid I would sunburn a lot and my Mom would put me in a tub of the same concoction and it helped that pain aiso! Miracle drug and at a reasonable price!

This past summer my sister used vinegar to help relieve soreness from sunburn on her shoulders.

Becky Jo

Didn't know vinegar would work on chicken pox, but why not. If you put vinegar on bug bites or bee stings it takes away the redness and hurt right away! I just put it on a cotton ball and rub right on the itching/hurting spot! Hope this info helps someone else, too! Glad to hear that Dylan is doing much better. Hugs!!

So glad you found something that worked :D I remember baking soda baths but couldn't remember the mix so glad someone came to your rescue!

Jean Fitch

Glad you found this wonderful solution. You can also make a paste with the vinegar and baking soda to put on the worst spots in between baths. Just keep the mixture damp. Works great for beestings, sunburns and other painful or itchy bites, etc.

You might also try tee tree oil.

1/2 cup baking....what?
Baking Soda I'm assuming? Baking powder?

Sure wish I had known about this when I had chicken pox!!! I had sores on top of sores, as I was almost full grown when it happened.

Thanks so much for sharing!

when my boys were little my mother in law told me to use medicated valsaline on the spots. My oldest seemed to think that made a world of difference, and it helps them not to scar. NO. 2 of course didn't think it helped at all. Just thought I'd share that will ya!
