Phoenix Trip

I had a very overwhelming and emotional trip to Phoenix.  I learned a lot, and I do hope to share that knowledge with those who want it.

  Here I am with Jim and Kathy Coover, the Co-Founder's of Isagenix.  They are fabulous people, and I am so grateful for their vision for World Health!! 

They were so sweet and I got a hug from each of them!  I find this company to be more like family than a competition between people.  I don't think I have ever been hugged by so many people I didn't know in one weekend.  I spent a lot of time with tears in my eyes, everyone's stories were so inspirational.

This is Zach Porter, and you can read his story HERE, and he is a member of the 100 lb Club.  His reason for joining Isagenix??  He wanted to be a marine and every Thursday for 2 years he went to the recruiting office.  They turned him down every time because of his weight.  He joined Isagenix, lost weight and just returned from his first tour in Afghanistan!!  To date, he has lost 174 lbs.

I also got to meet Kim Olson, another member of the 100 lb Club.  Her story is HERE, and she has kept the weight off for 6 years!!  You can read more like these On This Page!

 Here is me with John Anderson, the Master Formulator and Founder of Isagenix.  Yes, I am totally crying.  Here I am in the presence of the man who God gave an incredible talent and he is using it to change lives.  I am blubbering here because, if he had not created Isagenix, I would still be overweight, frustrated, and have no self-confidence.   I have lost 57 lbs to date, and am still losing!!  What a blessing that has been!  I am not so grouchy and unhapy, and that is effecting the way I treat my family and friends, as well.

I'm In Phoenix

WOW - I have had an AMAZING time here, but getting here was a battle! 

I got laid over in Saskatoon, because of fog in Calgary.  I finally got a room at a local hotel paid for by Westjet at 1:00 in the morning, only to be back at the airport at 5:3oam.  I finally flew out at 7:00am to catch my flight to Phoenix, only to get our flight cancelled because of the awful weather there!!    So, another hotel stay there (I LOOOOOVE how Westjet treats their customers!!) and food vouchers for the day.  But, after leaving Saskatoon on Wednesday, I got to Phoenix on Friday!

I have some amazing pictures for you, but I was not here for vacation.  I fly home tomorrow, already, and will show you what I was up to.

Control Freaks Blog Hop - Stop # 8

 You have either reached the 8 stop on the Blog Hop or just got here.  BUT, don't worry, it is a continuous circle, and it will take you right back around here!  YAY - you don't have to miss anything.

I am so excited to show these cards to you.  I made them quite a while ago, and remember, all projects on this tour are Stampin' Up! only.

This is my Love Quilt card, based on a card I just taught in one of my last classes.  One of my girls, made hers with this set, and gave me the idea for this one.

I used the I{heart}Hearts stamp set, and rose red, regal rose, pretty in pink and white CS.  I did some faux stitching with my white gel pen.

I then created the Love panel, using Lovely Letters, and one of the hearts punched out.  I also used the ticket corner punch, and the mat pack to pierce the edges.  THe heart was covered with crystal effects, and some dazzling diamonds.  I attached it with dimensionals, and then the panel was attached the same way.  But now onto my FAVORITE CARD!!

  My first ever easel card.  I was so excited to show you this card, it was sooooo hard not to post it !!

I used the lovely glittery Sending Love DSP, and faux stitched the black around it.  I used the new punches, and dies.  The stamp sets used are Three Little Words, and With All My Heart.  I used the half pearls from the Pretties Kit, and the organza ribbon.  I am really LOVING this card and I hope you do to!

Love Bot Tutorial

I think  the Love Bot packaging is adorable, but I wanted to see if I could change it up.  And I did!!

On the bottom flap, in the half inch scored area, I marked the center (1.5 inches), and then drew a circle with my mat pack.  I cut it out with my craft knife. and then ...

  I put a sucker in it !!  For a little girl, you could tie a ribbon around the top of the stick, right under the box.

Umounting My Stamps - TUTORIAL

I have quite a few of the retired Stampin' Up! stamps that I WOULD NOT get rid of.  Some of them will be great for my boys, and some were awesome for guys, and the rest, I just could not part with ... lol.  Now that SU is going unmounted, I decided to do the same with my retired ones.

Some people choose to leave the foam on the rubber, but I don't like having double layers of foam.  Besides, I am going for less storage, and so I want my stamps as thin as possible.

Here, I am peeling off an elephant image from the Wild About You set.  You can see some of the glue still on the trunk, but that won't be a problem.  If there was still foam, though, I would try to get that off.

  Then, I arrange my rubber on a EZMount Cling sheet.  One side is a sticky glue - this is where the rubber goes on to.  This is a VERY STRONG adhesive, you do not have to worry about your stamps coming off!!  I think of it as a puzzle, to get as many stamps on there as possible.  For this picture I sprinkled flour on the glue after, so I could cut it out.  That was annoying, so I went and found my hot knife to cut out the rest.  I had five 8.5 X 11 sheets to cut through!!  In that post, I used the thick grey stuff, but like I said I was going for as thin as possible.  For these I am using the thin black stuff.  Sticks just the same on the acrylic block!

  This is a new case from Stampin' Up! (you can buy a pack of 4 in the mini), and it is the same ones that the new stamp sets come in.  Now here is why I kept them as thin as possible.  I can put images on each side, and it closes with room in between the stamps!!  With the thick stuff, you would only be able to fill up one side.  In this case, I have 22 stamps, and the smaller they are, the more you can fit in.  So, how about knowing what is inside when it is closed ?

   

 The cases come blank ( no inserts), so I cut a piece of computer paper to fit.  That measurement is   10  1/2 X 6  7/8.  I then stamped the images on the paper in the spot that they were in the case, so I know exactly where to look for it.  And when I want something, I can just look at the outside of the box and know if any given stamp is in there!  Hope this helps you out, have fun and happy stamping!!
