The challenge over at Splitcoaststampers was to make a scratch and sniff card, and I used perfume for mine. I wanted to use some more new stuff that I got, and make a more elegant card again.
I used a new butterfly image, and the dot, dot, dot folder on vellum. The ribbon is also new, basic grey satin. After I embossed the butterfly, I cut out the on wing to give a bit of dimension to the card. I used my Frost White Shimmer Paint again for my pearls in the scallop border. I put together a couple pictures to show you how I do that.
First, you shake the bottle, so that the paint gets on to the lid. Then I take my dry embossing tool - it has a small ball on the end - and dip it into the paint. Then I dip it where I want it, and that ball on the end keeps a nice round dot. I also used it to cover the glue showing through my vellum HERE. Have fun and happy stamping!!
Such a cute card! Have you ever tried Perfect Pearls by Ranger? It comes in a bottle like Stickles and you can make pearls like that too! :>

Oh, both cards are so beautiful. I really love the SU shimmer paint too. and one bottle lasts a long time. I did not know if it would carry over, so ordered an extra of each just in case, LOL. Thanks for sharing your butterfly card. Oooo, one questions, did you spray the butterfly with your perfume?

Your card is beautiful. I'm thrilled with the tip about using the dry embossing tool to make the pearls. I shouldn't have thought with the ball on the end that it would leave such a perfect mound. Thanks for sharing.

do you know if its true and do you know how much shimmer paint to mix with alcohol to spritz a card and what is the effect of the spritzing? i have the champagne but haven't tried it yet but i like the effect the frost white stands out matching the paper.

GGorgeous!! Julie, what did you use to emboss the butterfly? It appears to have a pattern "kissed" onto it...or is that just the embossing powder? What colors are you using there? Can you tell I want to case this card?

love the card!! you didn't mention where or how you put the perfume on the card... did you just spray or mix it with something?
