Julie, I've come back to your blog after a long absence to find this news... I'm only writing to say that you and your family are in my thoughts. I've had melanoma and luckily didn't need any treatment other then surgery, but I know the feeling when the doctor says the C word to you.
Here's all my positive thoughts and good vibes directed to you, guys, from the other side of the ocean. You keep strong and hopeful... love always finds a way.

My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm a cancer the end of July it was 1 year since my last radiation treatment. I had surgery, 6 months chemo and 30 radiation treatments. There are days when it's a bit tougher than others. Life is good now still challenges here and there. Support groups are the need the support of those that are going through what you are. Take care, one day at a time.

Praying for all the best, and that God leads you in the best direction for his treatment, May He give you continued strength to make it through each day and what it brings!

You are all in my prayers. Have you checked with the American Cancer Society?? Sometimes they can help with diet & other ways to get you thru it all. May God Bless you & hold you close. Beth

peggy marshall

my mom was diagnosed with AML she is 69, had 11 babies, the docs were not at all encouraging after the first dose of chemo did not put her into remission, the 25th it will be one year. many ups and downs but our Lord has sustained her and blessed her with time and so few side effects of the chemo, she too was so concerned about the chemo and the side effects
we did come across an article about eating
asparagus, she eats a whole can each day
her cancer numbers are way down, she continue to get stronger, she is not healed by the worlds standards, but she is a walking miracle, to still be alive and active, and joyful, with Leukemia

i cannot find the article ----google it
i am sure it is out there and there may be someone else who has done this

we thank God for the miracle of his love in allowin out mom to still be here, praising God , giving Him the glory, and serving him in every dr. appointment, each visit to the hospital for check ups mon-wed-fri, she leaves tracks from CHIC all over,"just in case"

I believe mom is here because she has us as her support, to cheer her on, love and hug her, funny cards, jokes and time for her to cry and say nothing

and i believe
God is allowing her to live because because He is not done with her yet----------

sorry so much to put down
know that our Lord has u all in the palm of His hand------bless u
i am praying for many blessings, and answers to pray in Gods time and according to His will and way for u all

praying daily. :)

I am so saddened by your husband's ill health. I have followed your blog since soon after your started it and feel that I have become to know you as a so many of your followers. I think about you each day and pray for your entire family, trusting that God proves his healing powers for Russ. And, at the same time HE is watching over you and your children.
Thank you for sharing.

Laura I

continuing my prayers for your husband, family, and YOU! Your faith will help you through this difficult time and bring you to the other side with strength and courage. God Bless You!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Don't push chemo out of the picture, pleae pray on it. When my then husband was young he had a very aggressive cancer, they were not certain chemo would help and gave us a terrible prognosis and told us to get his affairs in order. We suffered through some radical surgery followed by very agressive chemo and he achieved a complete remission which has lasted for over 20 years now. Chemo is much better than it used to be. God bless you and your family.

I have been visiting your site now for a while as you have blessed us with your creativeness and allowed us to follow your life journey, and now share your journey with your husband's diagnosis. Please know that you all are surrounded with our prayers lifting you all up to God and that ultimately He is in charge and you can rest in His care. Continue to proclaim your husband's healing as we continue to pray for that. May God bless you with His peace that surpasses all understanding in every situation. May God bless you, your husband, and your sweet boys. I shall continue to pray for you every day.

Patti J.

Wow! In the huge scope of what the CT could have shown, that is wonderful news! I will continue to send up prayers for you all. This is not an easy road for any family member. Kudos to your kids for being so full of understanding and love. You've raised them in a Godly manner. Prayin' hard in Missouri! (p.s. had to run out of town this week on a minor emergency of our own - will be emailing you soon-don't give up on me!)

May you sense God holding you in his hands during this time. Thankful for the confirmation and knowledge of where things are at and the process that needs to be followed. God is good and may you sense His loving arms and strength around your family and through the outpouring of love from family and friends. Thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Julie, your faith is going to pull you through. Sounds like good news that there are only 2 spots. I have been praying and God does listen. I am impressed with the suggestions that others have given---I will remember them for the future. Please God, be with you and your family.

Brenda in Indy

Glad to hear it has not spread. Thanks for the update. There are so many of us that care for your and your family and our prayers are with you.

I am praying for you Julie. I have never read your blog before today and I am glad I did. I have also never commented on someone's blog before today. The tears welled up when I read the postings regarding your husband. I praise the Lord that you are able to stand strong in the might of Him who is able to move mountains. Only with the Lord's help can we be strong for our children in a time like this. While living with my grandmother while she endured chemo, we were able to send away to Canada for something called Essiac tea. It was super stinky but she was faithful to drink it and never got nautious nor lost a bit of her hair. I will be praying that he will not even have to endure chemo at all because he is healed by Christ's stripes! I just wanted to give you the info since it helped us. Keep trusting God because He surely has a mighty plan for your family!

Pam W

Sending hugs and prayers.

Anne Marie

Keeping you in our prayers and thought you might find this interesting. I recommend calling for a consultation. I have known so many people he has helped including my nephew.

I visit your blog often but don't usually leave any comments. When I read about your situation, I felt a sense of deep sadness. I told my husband about it, since I have two young boys and can only imagine how difficult it was to find out such a thing or to know what your husband has to go through. My heart goes out to you and your family and I pray that your husband will get through this. Julie, you will come out of this a stronger person. Remember that God only gives us what we can handle. I know that he is watching over you and he will hear all our prayers.

Much Love,

I am holding you guys up in prayer, Julie. God is faithful. God is good. God is great. And He ALWAYS has a reason for what He allows to happen. May you guys have continued peace through this ordeal and may the Lord work through the doctors to heal your husband. Also a special prayer for you as you manage all of this and the questions your dear children have. Love in Christ!
