Thanks to you wonderful women, who take time out of your day to handcraft a blessing for my family.  We truly appreciate the time you take to bring some joy into our home!

 

A Special Day

Russ, my wonderful hubby, is a pretty shy guy.  He is not one for the spotlight, and likes to be at home.  He has had something on his heart for a pretty long time, but did not have the guts to go through with it.  Our current situation gave him the jump start and the courage he needed to take this step.

 

With about 40 family and close friends gathered in our home, Russ got baptized.  This is in our hot tub on our deck.  Russ cannot lay back, as it compresses his lung, so he had to be dunked forward.  It was such a wonderful night, and one that he really treasures.

 

Here is a shot of us and his immediate family taken that night.  We had a great evening, but Russ slept the whole next day!!  It really tired him out, but it was so worth it.  The bonus - I got it all on video.  Enjoy your day :)

Piles Of Blessings !!

If you have been here for any length of time, you know that we heat our home with wood. In fact, last year, you all liked these pictures (scroll down a bit). Well, being in the circumstance that we are in at the moment, we do not have the time to go get the wood needed. I am talking A LOT of wood, about 5-6 cords. I could take the 6 hours needed to go and get one load, but then Russ would be by himself, and that just doesn't work.

Some family and friends heard about our predicament and came to the rescue.

 

It was a good old fashioned barn-raising (OK, wood piling). Two big trailers of wood and 10 people to help stack it all in the garage!! What a blessing to have such wonderful people in our lives, and now it smells so nice in there. It took less than 1 hour to have all the wood stacked and ready for  the winter. No wonder they say that many hands make light work. It usually took Russ and I one evening to do one trailer by ourselves. I am so grateful to all the folks that are helping out, it makes such a difference in my stress level. I never realized how much Russ and I did TOGETHER until these past few months.

A Review

I have been getting some emails asking what is going on with my hubby.  I have answered most of the questions already on the blog, so to save myself the typing, I will share here.

All posts regarding Russ and such are in the category called Family.  You can see them all in 2 different ways.  On the right hand tool bar --->, in the category section, you can scroll down and click on it (this works for ALL Categories).  Or, at the bottom, as pictured.

Everyone of my posts is put into a category.  So, if you want to know more about a certain subject, click on one of the categories that I put it in (some can have MANY).  The little tool bar pictured above is at the conclusion of every one of my posts.  I hope this helps you a bit on how to navigate around my little online world.  Have a great day!

Isn't this a beautiful card ?!?  This is what we made in my class on Thursday, because I wanted something that was stunning and actually easy to do.  You can find another like it HERE and also a TUTORIAL.

It is amazing how you get 10 women in a craft room, all making the same flowers, but EVERY card turns out differently - LOVE IT !!  To me, that is the specialty of paper crafting, because everything is completely authentic to the person who created it. So, let's see your creations with this flower!  Make a card using the tutorial posted above, and then leave a link here, so we can all see the beautiful creations from around the world.

Hopefully it brings as much comfort to you as it does me  :) 

Russ' pain is pretty much under control now. He is sleeping better and has started gaining weight!! Here in Sasakatchewan, Home Care is provided by the government, so they came out yesterday to assess what we need ~ from a hospital bed to nurses coming in, we are getting help. It is so nice to know that I don't have to worry about all of this stuff. When he needs IV's they are going to teach me how to do it, so we don't have to try and figure out a way to get him to the hospital. Little things like that go a LONG WAY to making it a bit easier on all of us.

Guess what ??  I STAMPED !! My stamping class (after being postponed once already) started last night, and we all had a blast. I'll show you my card soon, and also I have started receiving some cards from YOU. I'll post those, as well.  Thanks again for all the prayers that continue up on our behalf and all the encouraging words that you post here.  I read them, and they completely lift our spirits.
