Robin Munn

Hello Julie,

My name is Robin and I live in Pine Bluff Arkansas and I found your blog about a year ago and then our computer crashed and I lost all my favorite sites and just now found it again a few months ago. I just wanted you to know that I am praying for you and your husband and family. I believe in the Lord with all my heart and I have seen healing miricles with my own eyes. I want you to know that I have put him on a prayer list with some of my friends and church family. I pray that Russ's body will be in line with the way the LORD has created it to be. I pray that the LORDS hand will be on him and comfort him in this time of healing. I will continue to pray and believe that the LORD is going to heal him. We give God all of the glory and praise he is due! I hope that you gusy will find comfort in knowing that people in Arkansas are praying for him. God Bless you guys!

Flo and Ron Summers

John 6:68,"Lord,to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." Our prayer is that you'll cling to His hand, trust His promises, and rest in His perfect care. For better or for worse, believe the truth. God is good. And He is for you. Always.

I pray God will hold Russ in the circle of His arms, And give you rest. Praying for all of you.

Peggy M

I am praying for Russ and you. In our family we have a word we use in e-mail and over the phone when hugs cannot be delivered in person....Oooot....that is what a hug says. Silly but maybe it will help you send those hugs to Russ and not hurt. Oooots!

Kim Kowal

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I so remember going through what you are going through. My husband was so ill when he had cancer and was in so much pain. It hurt me so much to know there was nothing I could do for him. You are strong Julie and prayer IS powerful. You will make it through this. God will guide you along the way. Please contact me if you need to talk. I'll give you my phone number in an email. Here is my email addy: Sending up prayers for you, may you receive some sense of peace soon.

Praying for Russ and you to see you through this valley in life.

Our God is a living God, our healing physician, our comforter, our bright morning star. God loves you and Russ with an everlasting love and will provide everything you need. Julie continue praying, proclaming God's promises, and sharing prayers requests with your friends. Julie, God has designed you to be a helpmate to Russ. Nancy Bates

Julie, I have followed your blog for many months & feel as if you are a long time friend, even tho this is my first comment.

I have enjoyed reading about your family & seeing all your talents.

Wanted to let you know that my prayers are with your husband, you & your family.
I pray God will ease his pain & rest will come to the family.

God Bless You.

Crystal L. (Crafting & Rambling)

Oh, Julie. My heart is breaking for you and your family. What a tough thing to go through. Will be praying for all of you, especially that his pain will be eased soon!

Lori A.

I am sending up prayers that Russ will get some rest.

I wish I had something profound to say but I do send prayers to both of you.

Just know that our thoughts are with you both.

From a fellow cancer patient

Praying for you and your family!

Susan W

Sweetie, I will be up tonight praying for you all. Know that there are many who are praying for you and Russ and that you are in our thoughts. I have added you to our prayer chain. May God's love comfort you.

Debby McGillivray

Sending prayers for Russ that he receives relief soon. I have for many many years had trouble sleeping still do sometimes, but ask his doctor for something to help him sleep even with the pain, (fibro) I have pain to but not like his. I know one that worked wonderful for me, (which does not work for everyone) but it is Trazodone. It is an Anti-depressant but it works good. It for some reason also relaxes the muscles at least it did and does on me. I am sure with his condition he has depression.
Someone also mentioned a special bed, I know that has also helped many. Or even try sleeping in a lazy-boy recliner or something might help. I sure hope he finds relief somehow.
angel hugs

Brenda Brehm

Julie, Ask and it is done, prayers for you and yours.

Your post tonight made me cry. I just can't imagine going through this, or having someone that I love go through this. I am praying for you tonight.

Angela Fehr

Hugs & prayers for Russ, you and the boys, Julie - so thankful that you know the truth that God is good, all the time...through it all.

Julie, We are praying for Russ and your family.

Nancy C.

I am praying for you and your family - call the Dr. and see if there is something they can give him to help with the pain so he can get the rest he needs to fight this!

Prayers to you and family...Hoping Russ's pain eases up on him..

Sandra K

May God's love and our prayers encircle Russ and your family like a big hug and ease his pain. Love to you all.

Brenda in Indy

Julie, I'm so glad you feel that you can come to us for prayers. We are your online friends and are happy to help but sorry for the reason. My prayers are with you and Russ and the boys. I truly agree that Russ needs to sleep. Can you have his doctor help him with that and hopefully he has pain meds. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers everyday.

Julie, everyone has quoted so many wonderful Scriptures that I only want to add the I will pray for Russ's pain to be gone while he is being healed of the "C". I will also pray for you and your family. You have great strength, may it only become stronger as you rest in the Lord. He is in control. May Russ be healed quickly to the Glory of God. Praise God and bless you.

Praying, Julie. Hold fast to His Word and His love for you!

I have been praying, but will pray for the pain too be less intense so he can sleep, I can't imagine going through this on either of your parts, praying for all of you through this.
Hugs, Connie

Prayer sent. And, will keep you in my thoughts. Sending hugs and smiles your way.

Russ is really blessed to have a strong wife to stand beside him. Remember to ask those close to you for help as well -- like with cooking, cleaning, paying the bills, just talking, company. Folks want to help you as well.
Take care,

Janice Waymire

Julie, so sorry to hear Russ is in so much pain. I know it would be very hard to have the love of your life in so much pain and not be able to do anything to ease it. I am so glad you let us know you need our prayers. I will call the prayer chain of our church and have them pray also. Just remember the footprints poem. I know it doesn't to Russ that God is carrying him, but He is right now. My heart goes out to you all. You are such an inspiration!! Prayers are going your way from Indiana..

Debbie Herfkens

praying that not only the pain will go away but also the cancer. I hope that Russ's pain eases completely

Monika Thiessen

I am very sorry to hear about his pain etc.! Prayers go out your way, and remember God doesn't do any mistakes... He is in control. I hope that everything will turn out to his glory, and that Russ can feel better soon!

Dear Julie

Praying for Russ, you and your family.

wendy beams

My prayers are with you & your family during this very difficult time. Sending healing thoughts.

Sending prayers your way...wish there was more I could do to help. I agree with whoever was talking about the special bed...also, when my father's cancer had spread throughout his entire body and made him cry with pain, we add those egg carton mattress cushions, 2 or 3 on top of one and other, as well as heating pads...this helped him to sleep, as well, we propped up his mattress by putting blankets under the mattress so he was in a semi sitting postion..

Jennifer H.

Julie, Russ and your family are in my prayers. God's word is true, and He is faithful to His word and promises. I pray He gives you both daily strength for daily needs. He is the same Savior and Healer yesterday, today and forever! Much love to you and yours.

Julie, another prayer warrior here praying on your behalf. You are really touching a lot of lives of those on the outside. Your faith in Christ is what is going to get you through this! Thank you for being so open and honest here in blog-land. God bless you and your family on the journey ahead. I agree, Caringbridge is THE BEST way to keep in contact with everyone!! Let us know if you set one up so we can follow that.

Julie, praying for you, Russ and y'all hard and strong. I'm glad you can express this in your blog. You're not alone. God Bless. I'm so sorry that he is in so much pain.

My heart goes out to you. Sending healing thoughts your way.

Rose Menassas

Is there not a pain clinic you can visit to show him how to manage the pain while it is at a low level before it reaches uncontrollable heights? My brother is going through a lot of pain in his journey toward healing so I can relate to how you feel, Julie. It is very hard on the caregivers to watch someone you love be ill and not to be able to mend it. You have to wonder what we are supposed to learn from this situation. I am praying for you both and your little ones too. Try Yoga????

Janice Webb

Julie, You and yours are in my prayers and thoughts. It such a helplessness feeling to not be able to ease your loved ones pain. I know---I sat by my dad's beside in very similar situations.

Take good care of yourself and know we are praying for your family. God Bless.

Antia Aurit

I recently and quite suddenly have had to become my husband's care giver. It is horrible to see the one you love be unable to do all the things he normally did for himself. During this time, God has given us little victories each day and we are trusting Him for healing. If it wasn't for the prayer of friends and family I would not be able to make it. It is a privelege to be able to pray for you and Russ. Make sure you are not doing too much and let others do for you (very hard for me, I am the type-A server, NOT the receiver) but I have learned about allowing others to serve.
Julie, even in the messy now and now, God is there, working, loving and caring for us.

Julie Carlisle

Never feel like you are asking your friends to pray for you too often....that is impossible!! We are blessed to be able to pray for you and your family. Precious God Almighty, please give this family rest and restore Russ' health in Your power and might for Your honor and glory.

MaryAnn Grove

you might consider entering Russ on Caring Bridge. This is a sight for very ill patients and gives you much needed comfort. It is a free site, - personalized patient information websites for anyone dealing with cancer, a premature birth or serious health event. Private online journal helps you ...

Linda Henry

Julie, When My Mom had cancer the Doctor did a prescription for a special bed designed for patients with alot of body pain. My Mom said it made a great difference. It was sort of a hospital bed and the matress was a special one. She could also sleep in a sitting up position just like in the hospital...sometimes this is all it takes is to sleep in another position other than laying flat on Your back. Talk to the Doctor and he'll know what I'm talking about. This was over 16 yrs ago so I'm sure they have improved on this by now. (Your insurance should cover this too!
Good Luck and Russ, My prayers are with You and Your Family!

Nancy Lundberg

Our prayers and concerns are with you and your family through this difficult time. God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hands.

Janet Van Rossen

Julie, I am praying for you and Russ. I have been through this and it was the friendship and strength of others that kept me going. God Bless you and yours.

Janet xx

so sorry..i type "renee"..meant to say julie...

I will pray for your husband and you to feel relief from the pain and the peace and comfort in your heart that only Jesus can provide.

I read this quote recently in a doctor's office:
Good morning! This is God. I will be handling all your problems today. I will not need your help -- so...Have a good day! I love you! --God.

If we could grasp this so easily it would be great! But it is so true! Love and Prayers.

my heart goes out to you I have lived with cancer for 7 years..and while I do not have issues with pain ..I have many other issues that affect me in my life....and impact my family
I must tell you, renee....folks like russ..and I...feel as sad about putting our families thru this with our families feel about not being able to "take it all away" from us....make us well..and as we were....prior to being diagnosed.
this is a hard journey for you and your family..i know...
my prayers and thoughts are with you..each and everyday...
sending love..prayers and hugs to you..russ and your precious little ones..

Patsy Behrendt

NEVER, EVER apologize for asking for more prayer~! As your blogger friends, we constantly look to you for inspiration on our cards so we are more than happy to be able to give back to you and whatever you need. I hate this is the way we have to do it but at least you are asking for something we can do and do well!! I am praying for Russ, the pain & much needed rest but also for you to have some rest and peace of mind! You are a friend we have never met but we love you anyway and we worry when you have a problem! Prayer is the best thing we have to offer! hang in there, help is on the way!

I am so sorry for the pain that you all are going through! Thank you for asking me to pray. I will do it. And when the right words just won't come to you, ask the Holy Spirit to intercede for you. Romans 8:26--"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express." What a blessing!

Patti J.

Sometimes being the caregiver is as hard as being the patient because of the helplessness that you feel. Prayer is, indeed, powerful, and I pray that Russ' pain will lessen and enable him to get some rest, and you as well. My heart is breaking for you.

Sav O'Gwynn

Don't be sorry for asking for prayer--that is the best way to help anyone:) There is power in prayer!

Lord, I come to you on behalf of my friend, Julie and her husband Russ. Lord, I thank you that they believe in you and that they are devoted to severing you. Father, I pray that you would relieve Russ of this pain and help him get some much needed rest. Lord, the bible says "Oh Lord, I cried out to you for help and you healed me" Psalm 30:2. Lord, we know you will heal--that is what you are, a GOD of HEALING! Father, I pray for Julie that she would stay strong {Phil. 4:13} and put her trust in you! Lord, I pray that they would not trouble their hearts, but just trust in YOU {John 14:27}. I thank you that we can come to you and cry out to you--and that you listen {Jer. 29:11-13}. I thank you for Jesus--who came to earth to save us. I thank you that you are never changing and always full of love and peace. I lift up Julie and Russ (and their entire family) and pray that you would hold them in your hands--comforting them and giving them peace that surpasses all understanding {Phil. 4:6-7}. Thank you, Jesus! We praise you LORD! Amen.

Please keep us posted, Julie!

Margaret Sperry

Praying for you all! We know all the scriptures, know our God, the Great Physician, and trust in Him, But we do not understand "why me". We circle your family, upholding you and yours in Prayer. Love

Kathy T

Julie, lifting your whole family up in prayer. Praying for rest and relief for Russ, strength for you and comfort for your boys.

Becky Jo

Julie, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I will pray for rest and peace for you all. I'm sure it is a very hard thing to go thru and you are very brave to share your thoughts with us. Hugs!!

nothing is impossible, is it? 'just ask & ye shall receive; having a nursing profession I've found this one of the hardest things to accept & this is when I question my faith; I'll continue to pass along my prayers, in hopes some rest will be in sight.

Praying for your family!

Silke Ledlow

Julie...I know Russ will see through this tough time!!!! God is GOOD and he will give you both the strength!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!!! Hugs ~S~

THIS TO SHALL PASS. My prayers are with your family. God has a plan for each one of us and he will give you all strenth.

Julie and Family, Keeping you close in my prayers and hoping you can find some comfort for your hubbys pain.

(((HUGS))) Know that you are being thought of every day!

My heart goes out to you and your family during this trying time. I am keeping all of you in my prayers and I know how hard this must be on all of you. I hope the boys are doing well. Take care and know that there are so many people praying and thinking of your family.

Lynne Hurlburt

Please know that I am sending healing prayers for Russ. Hugs n' Stuff, Lynne

I cry for the frustration you must feel - trusting God doesn't keep us from wanting to help, to at least be able to touch the one we love so much. Oh, Julie, I'm just so sorry you're going through this. I pray you will be strong and Russ' pain will be eased.

Laura I

continuing to keep you and your family in my prayers. Please know that my prayers are with you daily. If there is anything that I can do to help, other than prayer, please let me know. My thoughts and love are with you. Giving you a virtual hug.

Connie Jean

Praying for him. Praying for you. Praying for your boys... some Scriptures to pray.

Romans 8:32 "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"

Psalm 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all."

Jeremiah 30:17 "For I will restore health unto you, and I will heal you of your wounds, saith the Lord."

Psalm 41:3 (amplified version) "The Lord will sustain, refresh, and strengthen him on his bed of languishing; all his bed You O Lord will turn, change, and transform in his illness."

Psalm 103:2-3 "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases."

Jeremiah 17:14 "Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise."

Colossians 1:13 "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love"

Psalm 30:2 "O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me."

I have not been in your shoes. I have not been in his shoes. Altho many in my family (extended) have suffered that horrible C word. I am praying daily for your family. For God's comfort and his peace. To wrap God's arms around him and heal him of this illness. Remember... in Christ, the best thing to do is pray. Never fear that you ask it too much. That is all any of us can do. If I had the power to heal people of the C word, I would do it. Yet... I have the power of Christ and through Him and by praying, that is all the power needed. So by prayer, I ask God to heal and cure him of this, to break this illness and to bring total healing to his body.

Continued prayers for you as well, Julie. Love in Christ above!!!

diane mcvey

Oh, Julie, you have my complete sympathy. It is so hard to see the one you love more than anything, suffering. I hope Russ can get some rest today; can you call the Dr. and see if there is something that can "knock him out"? He really does need to rest, and constant pain is good for no one. I feel for both of you. I am so, so sorry that he is going thru this, and that you are having to cope with it as well. I think there should be something that can ease the pain enough for him to rest; if not, then maybe go to the hospital so they can administer something? Ugh, what a horrible thing. Again, I am so very sorry for what is happening. My hugs and love to you from the U.S.

Julie, I'm praying for all of you. Praying the pain will ease up and the restful moments will come. Hugs
