I made a video tribute for the celebration service today, and I thought I would share with you. Here is just a small portion of the great man Russell was.
I thank you all for the AMAZING ENCOURAGEMENT you have been, through these past fews days, and over the course of the past few months. I have truly felt your prayers, and the arms of God enfold me constantly!
Julie,
Your loving tribute for your husband showed us just a glimpse of what he love. I saw a father, a husband, a fun-loving family man, someone who enjoys nature, a caring and supportive man of God. May you and your family cherish his loving ways in all the years to come.

Hi Julie- You were such an inspiration to me during my weight loss and you continue to be during your loss of your beloved Russell. I lost my life's love of 35 years so I know the pain and the void in your heart that you now have. My husband had been in a wheelchair for 22 years due to MS. Like you though, I know Paul is in a better place with no pain and I will join him someday. Remember the fun times and smile. Remembering the bad times are also important as it makes us stronger. Blessings to your and your family during this most difficult time in your life. Take care- Hugs Kay Mespelt

Julie - there are no words that will come right now, so I have just muttered your name and your sons names to our heavenly Father, believing that He will be able to minister to you and your family in this great time of grief. I sure do not understand why you had this happen but in reading your blog over the last months I know that you know where your strength comes from. I also could feel through your words the love you and your husband had for each other. The void you must feel right now has no depth or end - please know that you and your boys are being lifted to the Father and asking Him to look after you all in a very personal way.
With love and tears,
Wanda Newman

Julie I just visited your site map and you have so many followers. And we all come here each day to look at your beautiful work and these past few months to hope for healing. Yes we did not get healing here on earth, but in a greater place. Now you have to heal here on earth. It's a long and slow process to grieve for someone who has been the love of your life. Take it slow and remember the tide for each day there will be very low and some very high moments and very different for each person. Take time to heal yourself and I will pray each day for you and your two little boys. Peace be with you.

Julie - I thought of you all day yesterday. Your tribute to Russ is truly wonderful. I love that you were able to share his sense of humour in your slide show. You have no idea what it will mean to your boys to have these amazing photo memories of their Dad as they grow older. I lost my Dad when I was 9 and even now, decades later, certain photos evoke such strong and wonderful memories. As emotional as it surely was for you to put together this tribute, it will be treasured. Hugs and prayers... Take care of yourself.

Julie, Thank you so much for sharing this with your blog readers. Although we have never (and chances are, will never) meet, I have cried and prayed for Russ, you and your family through this sad period. None of us know how much time we have on this earth, but it is obvious from your video that Russ made the most of his way too short time here. The pain of his loss will never leave you, but time will change it into something more bearable and all of the great times you had with him will always be there with you. God bless you, your boys and all of Russ's family and friends.

I don't even know what to say. Reading and watching you from the other side of the continent (North Carolina) has inspired me to be a better person. We lost my Mother last year to cancer and I still find myself in a murky sort of mood some days. You and your family help to raise me up and to remind me how wonderful faith is - especially on those days when you struggle to have it. Peace and blessings to all of you. Thank you for being who you are.
