Here are a few cards that I am going to show you. They were not for me, but for the boys, and I have been blown away by the support that the school has shown the boys. We were so blessed to be able to get them into a Christian school, and they have really been a true support to them, which in turn supports me. The teachers were informed of Russ' condition before school started, and the boys have been in counseling almost since school started! Anyway, the teachers for the boys made cards for them after Russ died.
Here is Jayden from his Kindergarten Class, and it measures 9 X 12 closed.
Each student put their finger print on the heart before gluing it on.
Now here is the Grade 1 card, measuring 23 X 14.
And the inside...
Now Dylan's card from his class.
Dylan's teacher is a stamper, and has even been at one of my Stampin' Up! shows!
And now here is the one from his teacher.
I am so grateful that they are so encouraging during this time. Dylan and Jayden want to keep the cards with them, but I put them in a safe place for when they are older. I am trying to figure out how to best photograph the MANY MANY cards that I have gotten from all of you. When I do that, you will see them. Tootles, have fun and happy stamping!!
OH My...those cards brought tears to my eyes. So sweet.

It's beautiful to see how others express their love for you and your boys. I'm sure those creations make their hearts feel just a wee bit better :0)

Hi Julie,
I just washed my cheeks with tears of joy for the love the teachers and classmates have shown to your boys! Those cards will truly be treasures for them in the years to come.
I agree with you about putting them away for safekeeping...but I had an idea I thought both you and they might like. You could take them to be COLOR copied, double sided, and fold the copy like a card, which would allow them to still keep the copy with them to treasure, and the original can then be tucked away for when they are older. (Or you could just do single sided and then cut them out and mount each on CS to give them some strength, and remake the copies into a card for them.)
I know in the states copy machines like that can be found at our local libraries and at office supply stores, and usually run about a dollar a page.
HUGS to you and the boys,
Linda

Such great teachers to do a thing. Refreshing to know that they are teaching the students to be aware of what's happening to someone else and to care. Edna

So glad the boys' school are so supportive...the cards are great and part of their healing process too.
Kind regards from Northern Ireland where we are having Siberian-like temperatures with lots of snow.

what marvelous teachers your son's have. These will be very special treasures for them.
This must have also brought joy to you. It is one thing to tell people something, but to see them react with such love, is a blessing.

Julie, I think you are right to keep them safe for later on. I was 9 when my dad died and I love to read the note and bead necklace I got from school kids at the time. It is more than 30 years later now and I still have them of course.
I love the wording Jayden's and Dylan's friends used - so perfect.
